We don't do cbeebies on a Saturday as ds likes Harry Hill .

Whats on now? Dh will be sooo pleased he doesn't have to sit through the night garden.

callmeovercautious · 29/03/2008 22:47

We wondered the same thing DD was so knackered from her cousins birthday party she hardly noticed but I am dreading tomorrow - I will have to crack open the DVD I suspect.

You can download them all BTW - DP is onto it now. I will ask him to post a link tomorrow. Off to bed now.

cazzybabs · 29/03/2008 22:50

For this reason we don';t have a tele (minc you an excuse for a stiff drink???)

I remember one night we were waiting for the night night song and it just didn't come on. we were devastated. I wrote to Cbeebies and it came on the next day. Don't think thta was me though.

etourdie · 29/03/2008 22:53

I actually like the show myself, as much or more than my 2 and half year old daughter. Maybe motherhood taken its toll on me. Maybe my brain is damaged.

Wendyjayb · 29/03/2008 23:02

Princessosyth, we're the same. Ds is 2.3 and sits on the sofa pissing his pants at you've been framed

GodzillasPimplyBumcheek · 29/03/2008 23:04

I do feel slightly smug...for once i am proved right in my over-anxious attitude. DD3 loves In The Night Garden, and it is lovely and calming, but i did think 'oh but if i put it on every night what will happen when they stop running it?'.

Now i am off to bed where none of you can clobber me

Chaotica · 29/03/2008 23:05

Had a bit of explaining to do here as well... (Although DD has sort of got used to the irrational tv schedule due to the disappearance and reappearance of Balamory...) It's hard to deal with though, when we only let them watch a couple of named programmes a day.

DforDiva · 29/03/2008 23:05

we had that last year around this time. dd was almost 2 but she cried and cried. i know, its hard isn it? hope they will start again, or just buy dvd. at least you can buy dvd now, we couldnt as there wasnt release at all.

MadamePlatypus · 29/03/2008 23:11

Its still on, just not in the bedtime hour.

WallOfSilence · 29/03/2008 23:26

Are you seriously saying your dh went out & bought a dvd because your child cried?

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 29/03/2008 23:29

wallofsilence phew the voice of reason

colander · 29/03/2008 23:31

What's wrong with a warm bath, drink of milk and bedtime story???

WallOfSilence · 29/03/2008 23:31

But have I got the right end of the stick?

I would love to see my dh running to Tesco to buy a dvd so our 16month old wouldn't cry!!

What ever happened to distraction?

16 months watching tv before bed

Othersideofthechannel · 30/03/2008 13:11

She'll soon forget this part of her routine ever existed.

S1ur · 30/03/2008 13:42

Give op a break, I'm sure she also reads bedtime story and has cuddles blah blah. It's just a small part of her day.

hippipotami · 30/03/2008 13:43

what happened to a story at bedtime? Read or told by the parent I mean?

hippipotami · 30/03/2008 13:44

crossposted slur. sorry. the op just came across as tv was the 'only' nighttime routine, due to the phrase 'so get tired another way' (as the tv story was the only way)

If I have the wrong end of the stick then I apologize.

WideWebWitch · 30/03/2008 13:44

You are over reacting (you did ask!)
If you don't make a deal of it she will have forgotten by tomorrow. Or she already will have done. Is she your first?

SmugColditz · 30/03/2008 13:50

Everyone knows that if you let under 16s watch telly, then not only do they become mentally deficient, violent and common, their eyeballs explode in a working class manner,

LilRedWG · 30/03/2008 13:54

DD may miss MakkaPakka, but DH and I are glad it's gone. Trumpton all the way (Yes, and snuggles and other lovely bedtime routines)

FrazzledFairyFay · 30/03/2008 14:04

Oh a*se, my DD watches story makers after her bath and before we read her books, while I take DS up to bed, and she LOVES it.

I really wish that there was some notice of when CBeebies were going to change their schedules, as it now looks like it's not even on during the day. , I guess I'll have to persuade her that Mama Mirabelle or something else is just as good.

fartyarty · 30/03/2008 21:56

just so u know we're not totally mad he went to get grub and wine too!yep she is our 1st and i secretly like makka pakka think he's got ocd and a cute bum
