Hi
This is driving me mad with my ds.
I am constantly finding puddles of wee all over the bathroom floor.
Its also all over the seat.
I have on occasions forgot to check and sat on a horrible wet seat.

He also seems to struggle with wiping his bottom properly and the toilet is jam packed with tissue.
Also never flushes the toilet.

Anybody else with the samne problem.

He is 7 by the way and the problem seems to be getting worse.

Not yet but I plan to use ping pong balls as a target for him

pedilia · 28/03/2008 20:46

Yes, but I make it clean it up themselves hoping that will make them learn to take more care.

My FIL doe sit too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem with DD2! She rends to lean back to see what she is doing so the wee shoots over the top! She is getting better.

DD1 is the same with the toilet roll despite me telling her how many sheets to use!

bellavita · 28/03/2008 20:47

I have two DS's and always have wee on the toilet seat and on the floor - yes and I too have sat on a wet seat many a time!

I get very irrated over it. Basically they just do not watch what they are doing.

Mine are nearly 11 and 8.

Toilet tissue not a problem thankfully, but my Ds2 does prefer to use kandoo wipes rather than paper - makes a cleaner job!

pedilia · 28/03/2008 20:48

Mine are 7 and 3, the oldest is not to bad when he remembers to lift the seat
The 3 year old does usually miss the seat but tries to walk off before he has properly finished, this results in dripping on the floor and seat if he has forgotton to lift it.

DON'T GET ME STARTED

I have done a thread on this before and was given a great piece of advice by a wise mner.

Put a cheerio down the toilet...if they pooh on a ping pong ball then load it up with bog roll, you've got a dyno rod situation. Cheerios float, then flush!

Is his willy all stuck to itself? They do get curled up! They also leave it too late and are on the verge of wetting themselves...

Niecie · 28/03/2008 20:50

Typical boys it seems. Both of my two are the same.

It seems a very common problem. There was a thread a couple of months ago about getting the smell of wee out of your bathroom and there were a lot of sufferers.

McDreamy · 28/03/2008 20:50

The other tip I heard (hadn't thought of pooing on the ping pong bal) was painting a target in nail varnish on the back of the toilet. Could even include the points

hecate · 28/03/2008 20:50

yep. Both of mine are buggers for it.

Try getting a ping pong ball, drawing a face on it and getting him to try to pee on the face

Try wet wipes

get a box and put the loo roll into it in sections, so instead of him pulling at the roll and taking half of it off, he takes one bit already ripped off at 3 or 4 squares. He uses that, then cleans himself with a wet wipe which he puts into the bathroom bin

Why does he not flush the loo? is it the noise or just that he forgets? if it's remembering, get him into the habit. You may have to stand outside and prompt him to wash his hands and then flush the loo. Make him go back every time he forgets, he'll eventually get into the habit.

If it's fear of the noise, can you put something round the cistern to muffle it?

hecate · 28/03/2008 20:52

also had not thought about poo on the ball! That's a VERY good idea about painting a target, MD - I think I'll do that one myself!

MrsBigD · 28/03/2008 20:53

ds (3) attempted to 'weewee like papa' but his aim wasn't all that good so we're back to sitting down on the toilet... much easier ;). saying that we don't have a step up and he's a bit short so he had to tippie toe or really stretch himself iykwim... poor little sod LOL

I have the same problem with DH, he is resistant to training!
I find if I put the loo lid down he is more likely to lift the lid and seat up which gives better odds of a dry seat

Janni · 28/03/2008 21:12

Does anybody's DSs and DP NOT do this ?!!

Nemoandthefishes · 28/03/2008 21:18

yep - 14, 12 and 43 - all do it. Wouldn't like it if I left it like that for them though!! I Like McDreamy's tip about target/points - would turn into a competition like most things in this house. May just work!!

Monkeybird · 29/03/2008 22:26

I have raised this very sticky problem in my blog

It is the only solution, even if a tad expensive...

Monkeybird · 29/03/2008 22:29

and oh god please do not flush Kandoo or baby wipes. Not unless you want to spend horrible amounts of money throwing it at Dynorod, or indeed having your husband/partner sprayed head to toe in shite because he decided to do the rodding himself (you can buy the rods yourself from B&Q... not a job I'm ever gonna touch)

cadelaide · 29/03/2008 22:31

Ds1 is nearly 9, and finds all aspects of "toileting" difficult.
We were a bit late starting the Earth Hour business tonight cos he had got poo on his pyjamas.(Just been to the loo and found a bloody great turd bobbing around in there).

He does try though, he's just not a very coordinated little chap.

bb99 · 29/03/2008 22:35

Not DS (still in naps) but DH

He keeps threatening to help boy to learn how to pee in the toilet - but I am living in fear of the day he starts to try. Tsunami springs to mind...
