Are these girls pjs or tops and bottoms? Pic included

They're age 12-18m - I'm trying to work out whether I can put DD in them for nursery or do the cuffs at the bottom make them pjs? They were gifted to us!

Also, tag doesn't say, they just say 'part of 4-piece set'

PJs I’d say.

mynameiscalypso · 02/03/2024 20:23

They look more like pyjamas to me but I don't think it matters hugely

Looks like pjs to me

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 02/03/2024 20:23

I'd say they were PJs, but you could use them as an "outfit" too.

PuttingDownRoots · 02/03/2024 20:24

Those look very suitable for a young toddler for nursery

ShirleyPhallus · 02/03/2024 20:24

They’re absolutely fine. I’ve got pj sets similar to this that I’d send mine in

i wouldn’t send them in in a full onesie babygro but mostly because of the buttons. Anything goes at nursery!

Smarshian · 02/03/2024 20:25

I’m not sure it really matters. On balance probably pjs but definitely suitable for nursery as an outfit.

ToasterChic · 02/03/2024 20:25

If you’re worried, mix and match them with other clothes rather than sending her in as the full set.

2chocolateoranges · 02/03/2024 20:25

Most kids pjs come with longer sleeves so I’d say they were leggings and a t shirt. Perfect for nursery.

we have quite a few kids wear leggings like that when in our nursery,

SplitFountainPen · 02/03/2024 20:26

Pjs for an older child, fine as either for a 1 year old.

abblesss · 02/03/2024 20:47

Thanks everyone. It's just annoyed me there is no mention on the tags or labels anywhere. So we will never know for sure but do 12-18m olds wear pjs? I thought it was sleepsuits until about 2!?

You could go to the website of the brand and look to see what section they are in?

Caterina99 · 02/03/2024 20:54

I think they’re probably pjs. But I really don’t think it matters for a toddler!

HanaJane · 02/03/2024 20:57

I think PJs but doesn't really matter for nursery

Bunny2006 · 02/03/2024 21:06

I think they'd be sold as PJ's, a soft/more elastic waistband and cuffs, and no poppers/buttons on the tops give me this idea. However I put my one year old in sets like this sold as PJ's in the day, I call them her comfys! For example a day at home, or going somewhere in the sling, i want her to be comfortable. I'd do nursery in them too, I still use sleepsuits for night time

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 02/03/2024 21:10

They look like daytime clothes to me

Yourethebeerthief · 02/03/2024 21:11

At this age their pyjamas and their clothes often look just the same. They look lovely and comfy for nursery

shhsj · 02/03/2024 21:13

PJs but I think they'd be fine for nursery. Also fine for her to wear at night, I do a mix of pjs and sleepsuits for my 1 year old.

Definitely don't have to have sleep suits til 2!

My son went into pyjamas at about one. Much easier than faffing with sleep suits. I like sleep suits for newborn up to about one year and then two pieces after. Stopped buying the poppered vests too, much easier to peek down the back of a nappy when he's wearing a normal vest under his top.

FabFebHalfTerm · 02/03/2024 21:14

There are loads of leggings & tops sold for toddlers. Lots of PJ's too. It really really really doesn't matter.

if you like them keep them for PJ's at home, if you're not bothered, put her in them for nursery.

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 02/03/2024 21:15

Look like normal toddler clothes to me

CarrotOfPeace · 02/03/2024 21:16

Does it say anything about keeping it away from fire on the label? If so then it's pjs

Picity · 02/03/2024 21:23

The bottoms are for sale on a Romanian website called KidLet as trousers (the top isn’t included).

anon2022anon · 02/03/2024 21:27

I think definitely pjs.
The cut doesn't look like day clothes to me. The shoulders of the top have a vest style opening, not normal tshirt (which is actually pointless, they're like that so that if you have a poonami situation, you can go down with the vest rather than risk over the head with a poo-filled vest).

The label only says part of a 4 pack so staff know if the right number of items are there if someone returns it.

12-18 month olds definitely have PJ's, I think a lot of people switch to them when crawling/ cruising starts, as feet on sleep suits can be a bit dangerous at times, and fastening up poppers on a crawling baby is not always fun!
