Anyone else have no help from family at all? Before I start I do not expect it, just when you read threads on here it reminds you how much support others have. Aimed at those with living parents, does anyone else have no child care help from family?

Hi LilBus,
I came across this just now…
I’m in the same boat. It’s much easier now (DD15, DS12 and DS12) but was a very hard pill to swallow when kids were little as I have always worked full time and returned to work after maternity leave when twins were 5.5 months old and I had two childminders come in (as couldn’t find one willing to mind 3 under 3) one did two days and one did three days. There wasn’t a penny to spare.
There is a 15 year age gap between my parents and my dad recently isn’t as fit and well (he is 89 years) and I kind of feel… ah well, Mam, get on with it… as you said to me….

No support from my Mum or Dad. They are both local. Mum might suggest a coffee out maybe once a month if I’m lucky, or reluctantly pop by for an hour, always says can’t stop have … on. Dad will go months and months and then we will only see him due ie because it’s Christmas and a family member has invited everyone. They have all the time in the world and are young grandparents. I really resent them for it. I feel so envious of people with decent support. Some of my older friends / work colleagues are grandparents and I hear about how involved they are with their grandchildren and it just depresses me. I can’t imagine never helping my own children. I just don’t understand it. I resent them so much I don’t even want to spend Mother’s Day with her. I feel like I don’t have a Mum like others do.
