Next to me vs Moses basket - help! Which to buy?

Did you buy both, or just one or the other?

It seems silly to buy, a Moses for downstairs, a next to me for our room and a cot for the baby’s room. How can a such tiny human need 3 beds? 😂

I don’t want to cosleep at all. They will be in our room as per guidance for at least six months though.

I am looking at a Snuzbaskit, it claims to be 50% bigger than a regular Moses basket so maybe this would be ideal as it is lightweight and can be lifted up and downstairs. Then just a cot in their nursery for when they are older. We would have space for a full size cot in our room if we needed to.

Does this sound ok or do we need a Next to me? It’s hard to work out what is just marketing and what is actually a good idea.

I got both and was really glad I did as DD much preferred the Moses basket to the Next to Me initially as it was smaller and cosier. She outgrew it at 8 weeks but still happy I spent the money - anything for better night time sleep at that stage! I even brought an extra stand for it so we had one in the bedroom and one in the living room and just moved the basket - useful for when she was asleep and we wanted to move rooms (didn’t have stairs at the time - might have been more difficult to carry it downstairs safely). We possibly could have skipped the Next to Me but it was easier to lower her into it asleep than the cot we later had. We could also have used the pram bassinet downstairs but the pram wheels were often dirty (our local park is muddy in winter) so would have wanted a separate stand which would have cost money anyway.

We had both, the moses basket downstairs for the rare times she'd sleep not contact but also as a safe space to be put down during the day and she was happy in there, next to me she didn't like until about 6 weeks so on midwife advice we took the moses upstairs and put it into the nesx to me (mattress removed) and she settled better like that. The moses still fit her but around 5 months she stopped liking it for downstairs so it was sold on
She did sleep in the bassinet on walks and when very young could bring her into the house and stay asleep but our house is small so the pram lives in the front room as you come in the door where it's hard floor no rug, and as some one else said I didn't want the dirty wheels on the rug but then pram was next to the radiator so depending on weather it would get too hot to have her sleep in there. Lifting it off would make a loud click which woke her and also we had an elderly blind dog who would walk into it if left on the floor so moses basket with stand worked best
