3 kids is quite hard work, imo...

they are all great kids

the baby sleeps, though is still mainly bfding round the clock (shes 4 weeks tommorrow)

the older ones (2 and 4) are really good, they spend much of the day playing together (no school/nursery)

my lovely mother is paying for a cleaner, which takes the edge off it

dp is generally very good and is using holiday to take the older kids out, etc, though he is basically out of the house 7-6 most days. He is also doing the necessary reading/writing/numeracy stuff with ds.

but i am shattered, the house is trashed and I really, really need a few hours alone.

the laundry pile is breeding

and we don't have access to a car atm, and I can't face taking the 3 of them on the bus.

it is just hard bloody work, isn't it?

lots o f luck filly. there is light at the end of the tunnel. honestly.
in five years time, they will all be at school, and you will be sitting at home, twiddling your thumbs, or out lunching with friends

BoysOnToast · 10/03/2008 20:50

filly I can't offer you time alone but if you wanted to meet for coffee at cafe junior you could at least be spared listening to the laundry breeding...

Fillyjonk · 11/03/2008 08:34

oooh sounds fun

might have specific problem with cafe junior (will explain further on email if you want) but up for it in theory. will prob be a bit incoherant though...

do you have my email? fillyjonk13 at gmail.com

am i allowed a quick ?

have to admit having just one is a piss of p*ss but i think i would prefer to be up to my neck in nappies and wondering how i cope.

hope you get some rest soon!

SheherazadetheGoat · 11/03/2008 08:49

sorry that envy face is much crosser that i wanted to convey - we need a 'wistful admiring half your luck' emoticon.

PhDlifeNeedsaNewLife · 11/03/2008 09:54

at sheherazade having an easy one
I want #2 but can't imagine even ttc as ds is so thoroughly, permanently attached

oh look he's crying now because I dared put him down...

Fillyjonk,

i'm having one of those weeks two and i've only got 2 babies. 20 months and 5 months.
I'm knackered all the time. they've both been poorly for the last 3 weeks and 2 weeks ago we moved house!!
its been absolutely crazy.
I took Ds 2 to the docs to get him checked out and she asked how i was (big mistake) i burst into tears, i'm sure she thinks i need happy pills. but really i am happy, just a normal knackered mommy.
Definitly need a break!
My mom sounds like yours, she ordered me to go to our local beauty salon and get a massage as en "Easter present" bless her.
Can't wait to have a few child freee hours, as much as i love them, i need some me time, just a little bit.

I'll be glad when the good weather comes, and its summer then we can cover them in suncream and shut them in the garden to wear themselves out.

Don't despare you're just normal, make a little time for yourself.

madness · 11/03/2008 10:01

as my sister said, you aways seem to have 1 too many,
with one it's hard work,
with 2 and you happen to have only 1 at the time it's a doddle,
you have 3 dc, and only 2 with you at the time it's a doddle

TooTicky · 11/03/2008 14:41

Filly, I could lend you an 11yo - she is alternately saintly and sulky. She is v. good with little ones though.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 11/03/2008 15:02

I can totally sympathise, filly!! I have 3 similar ages to you- dd1 4, dd2 2.9, ds 17wks. We also have 2 dogs that need a good hours walk every day, and DH is in the navy, and was away just after ds was born!! But it does get better!! the feeding gets less, and you get more organised!!! I swear, I never knew what multi-tasking was until faced with wiping a toddlers bum while breast feeding and making a white sauce!! I now frequently "combine" tasks- eg, when I am on here, I am usually BF'ing, and often eating lunch/ breakfast at the same time! I tell the girls I will spend time with them at a certain time, and then let them play while I do washing etc in small spurts!! I managed to dust half the living room while they were eating their lunch today! It can be done once you get in the swing of doing things whenever you get a chance!
