What’s the one thing you wish you had, that would make parenting easier?

I’m curious - It could be a mindset, tool, product, relationship… what are you missing to do a better job as a parent?

My health. It would make parenting so much easier (I know because I did have it once). We take it for granted till we loose it. With my health I lost my friends, family, job (so financial security). I gained lots of guilt around my dc being carers, loosing their innocence, not being able to do normal things. I gained anxiety around finances and health.

Grandparents who are able to help out or at least who didn’t need lots of help themselves.

The village.

Family that are close by and involved.

A sense of perspective. I worry about being too strict, or not strict enough. Do I come down hard on ‘being home when you say you will’ or ‘finishing all your homework’ now because they will have to do it when they are teenagers. Or if I let it slide now am I being lazy and will I regret it and ruin their lives.

I think things would be perfect if we had 3 times more money and two more co-parents.

Money. Money for tutors, money for music lessons, passports and travel tour style educational holidays, better food....
