Hi, we are adopting a 2 and 3 year old, just window shopping shoes right now, don't have foster carer details right now to ask but want to get an idea.

What size shoe are you 2 and 3 years old wearing?

Please comment size with age please.

Also anyone who has a child with "pigeon" toes under a child development team/paediatrician do you recommend any specific brands for specific foot support?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My 2 year old boy - 26 months to be exact - is a size 6. It varies hugely though, some are still a size 5 at that age, others are 6.5-7.

Highlyflavouredgravy · 02/08/2023 19:22

My son was in a size three when he was 3. Not a baby size 3 either. His first pre walkers were a 5 and a half! I would wait to find out rather than guess because sizes vary wildly.

2 year old son is size 6.5

Mine is 2.5 and size 5

MariaVT65 · 02/08/2023 19:45

My son is 2.9y and he is a size 8(he’s also tall). His best friend is a girl born the same month and she is a size 7.

My son wears orthotic insoles and I need shoes where I can take the existing insoles out. Clarks are very expensive to say they won’t wear the shoes for that long. I’ve had a couple of good pairs of shoes from Sainsbury’s, but would also really recommend Schuh. You can get nice addidas in there for £25 instead of £40+ at clarks

MariaVT65 · 02/08/2023 19:45

Also to save money in the future, you can buy a clarks foot measurer online for a tenner and measure yourself before going shoe shopping.

My 6 year old has just moved up to a size 9 so it just shows how variable it can be!

imisscashmere · 02/08/2023 19:48

My son is 3.5 with one foot size 11 and one 10.5 ☺️

RedRobyn2021 · 02/08/2023 19:51

My DD is 2.5 and size 7.5

Smurf123 · 02/08/2023 19:52

My 2 year old girl is in a size 5

@User3735 sorry can i ask what made you get your little one referred/ how you knew about the hypermobility... My 2 year old seems to walk run with toes pointing in a lot (and is constantly running into things or falling over) but Google just says they usually outgrow the pigeon toe walking by age 8.. Apparently her 1 and now 2 year old hv checks are cancelled "due to covid" and she wasnt walking until prob 1.5

CoalCraft · 02/08/2023 19:57

My 2.5 yr old girl is size 6. She has been for a few months now, though recently went from F width to G.

Caspianberg · 02/08/2023 19:58

3.3 year old, size 8.5 (eu 26). He’s been the same size since Christmas, so feet grew quickly then seem to have slowed down.
He walked at 8 months, and his first shoes at 10 months were already at eu20 (uk4!)

SBAM · 02/08/2023 19:59

It can vary widely at this age.
3y8m DS is in 10.5 and has been for months, 3y3m DNephew is in about a 6.

onwardandupwards · 02/08/2023 20:01

My just turned 3 year old is a size 10, my dd ( 4) is a size 8, he's also taller than her.

Toddler101 · 02/08/2023 20:03

2y9m in size 6 shoes.

Embelline · 02/08/2023 20:05

Three and a half year old size 7 - didn’t realise his feet must be small! I think he’s about to go up a size though as he has said his trainers are tight.

his friend who is four and a half and very tall is a size 8 though so it really does vary.

grunttheterrible · 02/08/2023 20:07

My 2.5 year old is a 4.5 but she's tiny all over except for her belly 😂 Congratulations on your adoption!

ZacharinaQuack · 02/08/2023 20:09

My 2 year old is a size 8, but we get shoes professionally fitted. When I measure at home with the startrite gauge he comes out as a 7, but the fitter explained that he has short toes and it's where the wide part of his foot is that matters more than the length. They also showed us how/why some of the shoe brands didn't fit him well. We end up spending more but well fitting shoes are so important, especially while feet are growing. I wouldn't put him in second hand shoes either as they would be moulded to another child's foot. I do economise a bit by only getting a professional fitting every other size, and sticking to the same brands from cheaper outlets in between.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 02/08/2023 20:20

3 yo boy.

Between size 7 and eight depending on style

TinaTotal · 02/08/2023 20:21

DS is 3 at Xmas, so just over 2.5yrs he's an 8, but we were measured about 6 weeks ago so hes probably grown again 🤣

dullandgrey · 02/08/2023 20:22

My 3yo wears 7. He's smaller/shorter than most of his peers but seems to have average sized feet.

Whyohwhyohwhy123 · 02/08/2023 20:25

Just three a girl and size 6. Ds was pretty much the same.
Ive found chipmunk boots very good for my two.

ClinkyWotsit · 02/08/2023 20:29

DD, just turned 3, just gone up to a size 7.5 in Start Rite (size 8 in clarks but the shoes don’t fit her as well as SR).

AudreyJL · 03/08/2023 00:09

We’re probably an outlier as my wee girl who just turned 2 years is in size 3.5 😂

3isthemagicnumberrr · 03/08/2023 00:13

3 year old boy and girl DTs were measured in Clarks today. Both 7.5G.
