When does breastfeeding get easier?

Ten days in, endless latch problems, stress about how much she’s getting, unpredictability, chained to the bed/sofa, no sleep … give me some hope!

Just put your feet up, latch her on, bingewatch a tv series and let her suck for hours.

I’ve looked at kellymom which is reassuring, it does seem she’s normal!

@Yusay i think one of the issues in the evening is because she is fussy at the breast, comes off and on, cries, back on, squirms, fidgets. I gather this is normal but does mean just relaxing is quite hard!

A few months, when their mouths got bigger and they took more in! You’re in the trenches, it does get better and then breastfeeding when you’re out and about is wayyyyy easier than bottle feeding.
just give in to it for now - sit on the sofa, eat snacks, watch TV. Accept breastfeeding all the time is currently a thing. It will slow down and you will go out again. I promise

I have to disagree with the breast is way easier than bottle in public. I've done both, and I personally find bottle way easier in public. I think this kind of statement, although well intentioned (I'm not having a go at you) can make it harder for people to make a decision about continuing breastfeeding. It's about what works for OP and their family, so I think comments like this are not as helpful as intended.

I found breastfeeding easier in public because you don't have to have clean and sterilised bottles, or a way of warming up the bottle. You just need a place to sit down basically. I'm not sure why the pp's post above could be considered unhelpful , it's just her pov.

My dd was quite versatile with accepting formula, that's how I was able to mix feed, but she did need it at a very specific temperature. It was bothersome because we would have our sterilised bottles all made up in advance, then we'd have our ready made formula (more expensive but easier when out), then we'd have to sit it in a cup of hot water to warm it up etc. So it could only be done in a cafe or similar. Then wash it up at home. Breastfeeding I could do on a bench in a park, or perched on a garden wall, and no bottles to carry and no washing up.
