FTM and wondering what people's go-to products are? And the reasons?
Do you go for budget or "brand" stuff? Kid has reactions, etc..

I have found sainsurys own make nappies the best for my DS. He peed straight through mamia nappys and asdas are funny size. Pampers are great but expensive!!!
And I'm using mamia aldi wipes, for the cheap cost!

Lidl always for nappies and pull ups. Have tried the rest when away, caught short, gifts etc and nothing fits as well.

Wipes I use Amazon because of value.

My cousin swears by Lidl, I haven't had the chance to try them yet, definitely going on shopping list!

And it's a funny one because I remember running out when visiting family near Oban. Thought fantastic there is an Aldi there, got nappies, and for mine nowhere near a match to Lidl. I assumed would be much of a muchness but not for my dc.

Lots of friends love Aldi though. Very few use pampers if any. Lots of reusable.

Used Pampers in the first couple of months with both DC then swapped to Tesco/Sainers/Lidl, whichever we were going to. Had to stop using Lidl nappies for DC2 though because her skin doesn't seem to agree with them. I think Tesco are the best personally. Sainsbury's wipes are usually my go to.

I wouldn't of even thought of tesco 🤔

We're almost out of nappies now but I was never particularly brand-loyal - I'd use whichever supermarket own brand I happened to be shopping in that week (mostly Tesco and Ocado, occasional Aldi). Pampers only when on special offer. I cloth bummed both kids for about a year each but DH hated it so they ended up in disposables once they started nursery. Sad

Wipes - love love love Cheeky Wipes! I still use them for sticky hands/faces now! Usually had a pack of Tesco disposable wipes for out and about.

Lots of mine swear by aldi too.. But I found them awful !

No judgement, but I just couldn't be bothered with reusable, seems like extra work

mamia nappies or tesco (mania is cheaper ans soft but we are right next to tesco so ooccaisnlly get from there)
asda ones fit funny
pampers were meh
DH did get some random eco ones from Asda recently on a deal and the packaging looked like soem lady tena 😂 but they were soooooo soft and good but back to full price now so not getting anymore lol

little rascal wipes - I bulk buy them so they work out a bit cheaper - but I love the lid, so easy to open and close properly, and only one wipe comes out at a time and they are a bit thicker so I use less. Only because I kept getting annoyed at packets that ripped it too many wipes coming out etc etc

Makingamess4212 · 04/05/2023 21:37

Just touching on something @Heidi1978 said about the wipes packets ..

I bought these, they are a game changer! Now all wipes stay wet and have an actual open and close lid

Used cloth. Never had any leaks or poonamis, never soaked through. Even nursery were converted.

Cloth wipes in particular just work so much better than disposable. Usually 1 wipe and done. The difference between washing your dishes with a sponge and a piece of kitchen roll.

Theunamedcat · 04/05/2023 21:44

I used to chop and change nappies there was one set of nappies I had that had "holes" in it to help the skin breathe or some nonsense what actually happened was ds got his "tip" caught in it and I pulled the nappy off not expecting resistance 😳 sainsbury's came up small huggies came up quite big for the legs (I had a chunky legged baby pampers was crap for girls great for boys and when they were older aldi nappies were king 🤴

Theunamedcat · 04/05/2023 21:46

Asda ones actually gave ds a rash we got vouchers as compensation as there were "supplier issues" I said they better not be for nappies only because I'm never buying them again so they switched it for a generic coupon

gawditswindy · 04/05/2023 21:48

I used Aldi nappies and wipes, or Lidl if I was there. Huggies wipes were terrible as were coop nappies.

I used water wipes when they were pfbs.

gogohmm · 04/05/2023 21:49

I used reusable set of 24 prefold nappies and 3 of each 3 size of wraps did both kids and resold for more than I paid 5 years later (used disposable for first 6 weeks as in preemie sized clothing, both kids, I cook them small!) Also used reusable wipes, bought 24 cheap washcloths

Quoronation · 04/05/2023 21:49

Boots own brand wipes.

Also - handy hint in case no one has told you, try putting a rubber band round each side of the hole to make it easier to grab one at a time

Emmamoo89 · 04/05/2023 21:50

Little angel wipes and nappies. Get them from asda. Pay £12.45 for both. Get 12 packet of wipes and 78 nappies. They last.

Kit & Kin or reusable, and then potty trained early. Not trying to bring down a light hearted thread but on the odd occasion I used normal disposables I felt awful about it! I honestly can't imagine using several hundred a year.

Pinkplasticbathcup · 04/05/2023 21:59

Morrisons, sainsburys, Asda for nappies. Used Tesco when newborn. Still beat myself up daily about not using cloth 😔

Lidls water wipes are amazing and biodegradable and Aldi almost as good. @SockQueen I just couldn’t get on with the cheeky wipes!! I found they just smelt bad in the pot really quickly!! Have you got any advice?

Biodegradable is only helpful if you don't chuck them in the bin in a bag

kirsty2023 · 04/05/2023 22:05

Sainsbury's nappy's I find the best and pampers wipes can't get on with any other brand of wipes I find pampers nappy's leak a lot x

Only ever put a few at a time in the clean box, or they get musty very quickly. Probably only 5-6ish for one kid in nappies? So you'd be changing the water in there pretty much every day, and giving the box a wash out. Now DS2 only has a nappy at night, I don't use the clean box at all, store them all dry and just wet a wipe or two when I need them, same for face cloths in the kitchen.

The mucky ones I never had much issue with smells as long as I used the tea tree oil that came with the kit.

Yep it was the clean ones that were the problem. Alright I’ll give that a bash, thankyou!

And @Quoronation, yep I got there on my own, thanks. Bag free zone here!

You all have me curious about reusable cloth nappies, it's never been something I thought about or looked at. Gonna do some googling

Wrongsideofpennines · 04/05/2023 22:23

Reusable wipes all the way. When we've been on holiday and used disposable wipes you just end up using soooo many it's unreal. And then end up putting a finger through one and it just being gross. And they're so much better for hands and faces than wet wipes.

We use washable nappies too. My sister gave me her stash so it made sense to even though we never planned to. We like Kit&Kin for bedtime though and going away. We were given some eco naty ones at the start and they were awful. Like the baby needed to have a short wide bum to fit properly and the tabs came undone all the time.
