Older. Had my DC late 30s whereas my mum was late 20s.

RuthW · 10/04/2023 08:29

I was 28, mum was 30.

waterlego · 10/04/2023 08:31

Exactly the same age, for both first and second baby. Mum and I were both 28 when we had our first and 30 when we had our second.

Younger, she was 27 and I was 21 - we both married at 20 though (although I had only just turned 20 and she was nearly 21)

Much much much older!

Girls had babies very young in the 70’s.

Under no circumstances could I have even contemplated a child at 19!! I was a kid myself!

Wasnt ready until my 30’s.

WeeBenny · 10/04/2023 08:41

i remember my father pointing out that I was the same age as my mum when she had me ( aged 32). She replied ‘ no I was younger’ like this was better. She was about 6 months younger.

FFS. Families, eh?!

WhenTheDragonsCame · 10/04/2023 08:47

I come from a blended family and I only share one parent with all of my older siblings. There were only months between me, my mum and my dad.

My Mum was 22 years and 3 months
I was 22 years and 9 months
My dad was 23 years and 2 months

Justcashnosweets · 10/04/2023 08:49

Mumped · 10/04/2023 08:50

My Mum was 29 and Dad 26 when I was born.

I had my first child at 27.

YellowGreenBlue · 10/04/2023 08:51

I was older than my mum, younger than my dad.

blebbleb · 10/04/2023 08:51

Older. My mum was 21 when she had me, 22 when she had my brother. I was 35 when I had my son and now pregnant again at 38. She always struggled for money and they weren't the most imaginative parents and I didn't want to be like that. Sure I'd like to be around longer for my children/future grandchildren but glad I did it this way round when I felt financially and emotionally ready.

CheeseDreamsTonight · 10/04/2023 08:52
