And what will you be feeding them for dinner while we're on it?!

I need new ideas for my 2.5 year old rather than relying on my usual 'go to' options.

My almost 3 year old had pancakes for breakfast with fruit and yogurt, lunch was muffin pizza and some melon, tea was beans on toast, he will have a banana around 7ish

meow1989 · 25/03/2023 18:33

DS is 4 but he had banana porridge followed by apple porridge (think he's having a growth spurt!) for breakfast, we made puff pastry cheese pin wheels for lunch then for dinner he's had toad in the hole mash peas and broccoli. He's also snacked on a peach fruit pot, another 2 apples and a fruit wiggle snack thing.

Lentil soup with bread, and some puffs and a tiny bit of an Easter cake! 😂

Pasta with fried leeks and mushrooms, with lots of Philadelphia mixed in, followed by a baked apple and a cookie 😊

(DS is 2)

Mine had beans in toast with cheese for breakfast.

Burger, egg and bread with pepper and cucumber for lunch.

Porridge for dinner for thr youngest and egg fried rice for the older toddler (she can't eat that texture so nothing mashed or smooth and creamy.

Hubblebubble · 25/03/2023 18:54

Not a great nutritious lunch today! We were out and about, so a kids meal at the tesco cafe. Sausage, chips, ketchup and a generous pile of peas that were not touched.

massivesalads · 25/03/2023 18:56

Ds 3 had a bowl of homemade vegetable soup with crusty bread and fruit

He usually alternates between that a tuna or cheese sandwich or pesto pasta.

I used to make pin wheels all the time but had completely forgot about them until reading your post! That's tomorrow's lunch sorted 👍🏻

Baked apple is a great idea. I remember having those as a child!

Mines 18 months so younger but eats like a bloody horse.
lunch was a chicken sandwich, some little cubes of cheese, cucumber and red pepper sticks, a bit of hummus, a couple of little crackers, a blueberry and vanilla rice cake, blueberries, grapes and strawberries.
Tea was sausage and mash with carrots, broccoli and peas. He had two yoghurts, a banana and some cherries for afters.

knobheadex · 25/03/2023 19:09

Chicken and sundried tomatoes cooked in garlic with a pesto cream sauce and spaghetti. He scoffed it.

YukoandHiro · 25/03/2023 19:11

Lunch their DH was making it as I was busy she ended up with with a weird mix of ham, oven chips and broccoli.
Dinner for 2.5yo and 5.5yo was a hit with both: chicken and herb sausages, potatoes, corn on the cob and kale.

AllIwantforChristmas22 · 25/03/2023 19:13

Mine is 18 months
lunch was broccoli polenta and satsuma
snack strawberries and small biscuit, veggie sticks
dinner maccaronu cheese with broccoli and peas
strawberries and blueberries

a lot of repetition today 😬

riotlady · 25/03/2023 19:17

I’ve got my own 5yo and a borrowed toddler today so they had spaghetti bolognaise for lunch with cucumber and cherry tomatoes, then chicken nuggets, chips and sweet corn for tea.

Wheretheskyisblue · 25/03/2023 19:25

My 3 year old is pretty fussy with food atm. For breakfast he had shreddies (no milk) and toast with butter.

He had a picky plate for lunch, olives, chorizo, cheese, breadstick, walnuts.

Afternoon snacks of ice lolly and sliced apple.

Cheese and cucumber sandwich for dinner as quite tired and I knew a cooked meal would be a battle.

CoalCraft · 25/03/2023 19:26

Mine had chicken on bread rolls for lunch and chicken pasta for dinner... We had a lot of chicken to use up!

Danikm151 · 25/03/2023 19:31

Lunch was going to be tuna pasta with mixed veg until he knocked it off the side and declared” I don’t like it”
i’m waiting on a food delivery so no pasta left so greggs sausage roll it was…. At least I tried 😂

PanettoneMoly · 25/03/2023 19:32

DD 2.5 had a chicken, tomato & sweetcorn quesadilla for lunch with cucumber, cherry tomatoes, sliced apple & strawberries (tomato wasn’t touched, chucked straight into the no-no bowl).

Dinner was homemade cottage pie with peas & plain yoghurt plus a quarter of a cookie that she baked today for pudding.

She has an egg allergy so healthy, filling stuff like omelettes, scrambled eggs etc are sadly off the menu.

kikisparks · 25/03/2023 19:32

Veggie sausages, chips and peas for lunch.

She didn’t touch dinner which was tomato gnocchi with garlic bread, but had some banana soreen.

110APiccadilly · 25/03/2023 19:45

Two year old.

Breakfast: Greek yoghurt with a teaspoon of jam (ate loads). Asked for toast but only ate a mouthful.

Snack: grapes. (This is unusual, she doesn't normally snack, but she was complaining she was hungry.)

Lunch: homemade bread and butter, cherry tomatoes. She could also have had cheese, ham and various fruit if she'd wanted, but she didn't (maybe the snack was a bad idea).

Dinner: homemade chicken nuggets, green beans, carrots, homemade potato wedges, tomato sauce.

The rest of us ate similarly (that's two adults and a baby - baby generally gets bits of whatever we have, adapted to avoid added salt and sugar, so for instance she had yoghurt with pureed fruit rather than jam for breakfast.)

cazinge · 25/03/2023 19:54

My almost 5 yr old and almost 3 yr old

Breakfast: mixed melon then bacon/hash brown/fried egg & toast
Snack: Pom Bears & Choc Brioche (smallest) / Raisins & Peppa Pig Lentil Puffs (biggest)
Lunch: Ham, Cheese, Crackers, Cucumber and an Orange
Dinner: Pizza, Garlic Bread, Peas and a Yoghurt

Fairly usual day, slightly light on veg but tomorrow will be Roast with 4 veg so not too concerned.

Itsmyturnnow1 · 25/03/2023 20:03

4.5 yo
Breakfast- weetabix, blueberries and half a banana
Snack- cup of milk, piece of toast, some natural yoghurt and some sliced apple
Lunch- a ham and cucumber roll with olives and a barny bear sponge cake
Snack- babybel
Dinner- Pie, mash and carrots

trampoline123 · 25/03/2023 20:21

My kids (1.5yrs and 2.5years) were 80% potato today.

Started with a good brekkie of weetabix and blueberries. Then we were out for longer than expected on a walk so they had crisps and biscuit cake things and I quickly grabbed them some chips on the way home.
Dinner was mac n cheese bites with chips (again) and beans, yogurt and 1/2 a banana.

Geranium1984 · 25/03/2023 20:23

2.5yo

Baked beans with pitta bread slices, some cucumber and avocado for lunch

Supper was fish finger wraps, which he demolished!
