Hello,

The Yellow cream, it's called Metanium, make sure you get the yellow one as that's to treat it, they do a white one for just everyday barrier use.

Honestly I have a 10 month old and whenever he's started to get a little red I switch to the yellow for one or two time and it clears right up quickly. Only need to use a tiny bit (midwife told me)

Becareful though as it does stain clothes etc

NoSuchThingAsMe · 24/02/2023 10:23

Weleda calendula. Clears rashes almost instantly, no staining. Definitely the best.

Yellow metanium works every time!

Metanium is best. It stains so don't wipe on your clothes

Lots of nappy free time and fresh air helps

Raw egg white or cleaned with breast milk if bf can help as well

Please don't put raw egg white on broken skin, it could risk an allergy to the egg developing if the child has a genetic disposition.

Maryandherlamb · 24/02/2023 11:05

Yellow metanium, or sudocrem is quite good to heal rashes if you want to avoid staining.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2023 13:38

Yes some children are allergic to eggs but rare

Raw Egg white is proven to help

But up to op if she wants to try/risk it

FlounderingFruitcake · 24/02/2023 13:44

The Weleda cream mentioned by a PP is fantastic. You may also want to try different nappies. DS was older but reacted to the cheapo nursery ones so had to send in his own Pampers 🙄

PritiPatelsMaker · 24/02/2023 13:46

Yellow Metanium and ditch the wipes and use washable wipes/cotton wool and water or chamomile tea (cold obviously Wink).

RichTea63 · 24/02/2023 20:43

Metanium is amazing!

Newpuppymummy · 24/02/2023 20:44

Metanium is fab.

flashbac · 24/02/2023 20:48

Cornflour. Seriously.

crackersforcheese · 24/02/2023 21:07

Dry the area then yellow metanium, actual god send!

Diversion · 24/02/2023 21:11

Yellow metanium it is miracle stuff and especially good when baby is teething and has nasty nappies which often cause nappy rash.

iminvestednow · 24/02/2023 21:12

Agreed, metanium, best thing ever. Still have a tube in the house and my youngest is well past nappy age as works well if something has rubbed against them and made the skin sore.

Oblomov23 · 24/02/2023 21:12

Metanium

Ireallydohope · 24/02/2023 22:42

Step away from sudocreme or anything similar

It stops the nappies from soaking up the urine properly which intensifies the rash and prevents it from healing

walkersareback · 24/02/2023 22:44

A bit old fashioned but drapolene is like magic. We still use it on chafing and sore bums that may be caused by diarrhoea or constipation

Unfortunately not as widely available as it used to be

Re the nappy free time, just get a big washable towel/sheet/blanket and if he wees or poos, fold that bit over, move him to a clean bit and stick it in the wash when you're done.

Six years into parenting, I'm way less bothered by bodily fluids! Baby poo isn't even that gross :)

Namechanger355 · 24/02/2023 23:00

Metanium will treat it in no time

midwives actually recommend a combination of metanium and a good barrier cream

nappy off time too

Eatentoomanyroses · 24/02/2023 23:04

Once it’s healed with the metanium, just use cheap petroleum jelly.

lochmaree · 24/02/2023 23:08

Weleda Calendula or the burts bees nappy cream

We didn't find yellow metanium made much difference with either of our DC.

ImissLemmings · 24/02/2023 23:12

We tried loads of different types such as metanium, weleda etc and Burts Bees nappy cream was by far the best we found:

EJRB · 24/02/2023 23:26

Please avoid anything that is scented.

also give him nappy free time but make sure he’s nice and warm. Don’t bath him thag often either, as long as he’s clean babies don’t need baths as it dries out the skin

Kimberz · 24/02/2023 23:38

Aveeno nappy rash cream everytime
