I know some of our babies arrived in December and some in February, but thought I'd keep the thread title as January 2023 so we know it's our follow on thread. I thought it might be helpful to have this as we tackle the newborn stage ❤️ I'll link this on our old thread now xx

@TokenGinger nope no poo! Yesterday he spent all day trying to poo/fart with the odd fart coming out. You can feel him pushing and his face goes red etc. this meant every time he tried to nap it woke him up. He went from 1-8pm yesterday without a nap. From 6-8pm screamed non stop. I know he was over tired but it was awful. If my partner wasn’t here tonight I would have struggled.

we tried massages all day with the legs etc, we have started to add a little water for him to drink each day but nope. Ended up giving him s tiny bit of lactulose but hasn’t worked yet. Didn’t want to give this as last time you could hear his guts and belly bubbling days later.

im worried if this will happen every time he needs to poo bearing jn mind it’s only the second day without a poo. I’m praying this js a development thing and he grows out of it and learns how to get his body to poo! I really felt we had made improvements recently but now feel like we have gone back

yep I’m very happy about the childcare announcement… like you we don’t get any help until then but it’s still earlier than 3 years!

hope you’ve had a good day/night with your little ones xx

Bit late to the party, but hoping all of you and your little ones are doing well!

Lily is close to 4 months old now (on the 11th), it's gone by too fast! I had a bit of a slow connection with her, and postpartum depression was awful - but starting to feel much better now and growing a great bond with her. Won't be without her now, can't get enough of those sleepy snuggles.

Anyone else seeing a change in sleep now the clocks have changed? We're trying to get her to bed by 7, same time as my son, but it's pretty much guaranteed to not happen until 8/8:30. My son's been affected to, since he goes to bed at 7 no problem, but wakes up at 6/6:30 instead of his usual 7:30/8. Then wakes Lily up...

We've got black out blinds in his room, and make sure our room is dark for Lily but no joy. Any suggestions?

I just did a search for this thread to come and see how you're all getting on and saw that I totally missed this! How are you doing?

I feel like my connection was a little slower this time around, too. I think for me it was the illness and hospitalisation and going back to lack of sleep all whilst looking after a 3 year old, too. I was just exhausted and kept wondering what I'd done! But now, it just feels so right and she's absolutely precious!

How is everybody else doing? Xx
