Recently had an unsolicited comment about my DS' 'tiny feet' 🤦🏻‍♀️ He is small in general but don't think his feet are tiny or out of proportion. He's a U.K. 8 and is 3.5 y/o.

DS was 4 in November. He was a 7.5 at last measure in October so I’d say he’s probably an 8 by now as he’s just had a growth spurt.
He’s small compared to others his age though.

DecommissionedVag · 15/01/2023 22:28

Dd is 4yrs 3mths and wears size 8-9 depending on the brand/shop.

Reindear · 15/01/2023 22:31

I’m pretty sure when my dd was 3 she was size 8. She’s 7.5 now and size 1

DS is 1 and just started wearing his first shoes this week, size 5! He’s tall though and wearing 24m clothing. x

pottyproblems87 · 16/01/2023 00:59

DS is 3 years 2 months and is a size 7. Measured today.
He's been a 7 for ages!

naughtymouse · 16/01/2023 04:36

Ds is 3 years and 8 months and is a size 9/9.5. He has narrow feet though. His winter boots were size 10 though as he wore thick socks during the freezing cold weather in December and fit comfortably.

Angliski · 16/01/2023 07:55

3 yes old size 11! He is the size of a four year old overall tho.

BettyBoopy · 16/01/2023 07:58

My son is 5 and wears a size 9.5. When he was 3.5 he wore a size 7. My younger son is currently 2.5 and wears a 7. I think your son's feet sound pretty average!

EmilyGilmoresSass · 16/01/2023 07:59

DD is 3y8m, shoe size 9.5g and clothing size 5 to 6 or even 6 to 7 on occasion. She's a bit of a bean pole though. Youngest in her preschool class but tallest. No idea where she gets that from as I'm 5"4' and her "dad" was about the same 🤣 I do have size 7 feet though.

YesNoYesNoYesNoYesMaybe · 16/01/2023 08:01

My recently turned 3 yo is in size 7

verabarbleen · 16/01/2023 18:45

3 and half year old ds is a size 10 some of his friends who are boys are only a 6 or 7 so I don't think 8 is that tiny. People seem to think 10 is huge so I think maybe 8 is average?

OnNaturesCourse · 17/01/2023 10:13

My 2YO has size 9H feet.

Often told they have massive feet and tbf I think they look like they do.

Google will tell you the average UK size per age.

WaddleAway · 17/01/2023 10:17

My 4 year old son is an 8.

Didiplanthis · 17/01/2023 10:53

All 3 of mine had size 7 shoes to start reception ... Dd is now 13 with adult size 6 !

MuchTooTired · 17/01/2023 11:30

When my DTs started school at 4y 7m DS wore a size 12, DD was size 11.

Shlomping1234 · 17/01/2023 11:36

Dc1 and 2 had small feet. Size 4 at age 3. Dc3 is almost 3 and size 8.

Loosingitall · 17/01/2023 11:42

My just 3 year old is a 10, my just 5 year old a 13.5.
I think the range of sizes is vast at this age and totally normal

thismeansnothing · 17/01/2023 11:44

DD 4 in 3 weeks
Size 7.5 and a g/h width

RoseMartha · 17/01/2023 11:56

Isnt that normal?
When my teens were in reception so a bit older that your dc is now.
My eldest had infant size 6
My youngest was infant size 8

Now the eldest is size 4, youngest size 6.
Both girls btw.

PotterLottery · 17/01/2023 12:00

My son is 4 and he takes a size 8. Only thing I would say is his feet never seem to grow! My daughter flew up the sizes when she was younger. He's been the same size for what seems like years

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 17/01/2023 12:02

My daughter's first pair of shoes were size 2 at 14 months old.

She was size 4 when she started school.

She's 5' 4" as an adult and has size 3 feet (adult size) - she often buys children's shoes as they can sometimes be much cheaper than the adult version.

Her daughter is 6 years old (in 7-8 yrs clothes as she is tall) and is size 10 shoes. They are/were both children who wore shoes out before they grew out of them.

I used to buy several consecutive pairs of school-shoes which were the same size. It never felt right.

moonlight1705 · 17/01/2023 12:03

DD turns 4 in a month and is in size 11 /11.5 (different feet sizes). But she is very tall for her age so perhaps that makes the difference.

AmySma1 · 17/01/2023 13:14

DD was 4 im October and wears size 8 shoes, and just moved up to that size

Caspianberg · 17/01/2023 13:22

Ds is 2.9 years. He’s a size eu 27/ uk 9.5 years. He’s been that size a while. He must have big feet, as he’s only 12kg weight wise

His first shoes when he was walking at 9 months were a 21/ uk 4.5.

Fivebyfive2 · 17/01/2023 13:28

That's about average isn't it? My son is just turned 3 and has been an 8 for a while. My friend has a son the same age who is a 9 but another friend has a son also the same age who is in a size 4.5. They're all different!
