Would you leave your baby to cry like this?

8 week old walking up after a feed within the hour but doesn’t want feeding when offered. Nappy fine. Etc.

On a couple of occasions I’ve rocked the cot to get him to go off to sleep or left him to cry for up to 10 mins. They then fall asleep again. Is this ok? I’m worried it’s not given the age

No. I'd go back slowly and increase the amount of time by 30 seconds each time. I'd never leave a baby crying 10
Minutes - start at 30 seconds and comfort, then 1 minute, comfort and settle, then 1.5 minutes etc

You shouldn't be sleep training at 8 weeks. Without getting into the pro/anti sleep training debate no practitioner recommends it this young as far as I'm aware!
I think it's too little sorry op. You need to try and soothe and cuddle. Nappy and milk aren't there only needs they could be cold, uncomfy in that positon, scared, windy

No, I never leave my baby to cry at all (unless i have to e.g. in the car, busting for the toilet).

I can barely leave my 2.5 year old to cry for more than a minute, so when she was 8 weeks old I don’t think I could have got past 30 seconds if I was there & available to go to her rather than perched on the loo or the other things that shewolfsout mentions

I never "left my baby to cry" but if you never had a baby with colic, you might not under the sheer exhaustion and despair of holding and trying to calm a baby who has been screaming (not whimpering) nonstop for hours.

As some PPs have said, I physically could not just listen to my baby crying and not pick them up. Especially at such a young age.

They might be fed, nappy dry, etc etc but often what they need at this age is a cuddle and human contact.
