Just that really… it’s bang on 2.5 hours without fail and was hoping it would get longer.

How old is your DC OP? Are you breastfeeding? I do remember how draining it is. My DD started sleeping better from around 1 year old but I found it was very up & down. It does get better though I promise!

pbdr · 04/01/2023 14:04

I'm 15 months in and still waiting! At least it's not hourly anymore Grin

Cantbelievethis1 · 04/01/2023 14:10

8 months here and still up every hour in the night. Poor sausage is teething though.

Cuppasoupmonster · 04/01/2023 14:11

3-4 months I think. What’s the situation?

CraneBoysMysteries · 04/01/2023 14:11

We did gentle sleep training at 7 months and he has slept through the night unless illness since then. It was getting to every 1.5 hours and I was on my knees as wasn't getting back to sleep in between!

Emmamoo89 · 04/01/2023 14:21

11 weeks my son started sleeping through. All babies are different

upfucked · 04/01/2023 14:23

4 months for 3 nights, then back to an hour feed and maybe 2 hours of sleep. It was enough to restart my periods.

ElmtreeMama · 04/01/2023 15:00

13 months and still waiting here.

frenchie4002 · 04/01/2023 15:02

Mine got to 4 hour stretches at 8 weeks and can do 5/6 hour stretches now at 11 weeks. Sleep regression round the corner though!

sheusesmagazines · 04/01/2023 15:19

First baby - 9 months but had to do some gentle sleep training.
2nd baby 2-3 months completely on her own, then she regressed. At 5 months had to leave her to fuss a few minutes to get her to start sleeping better again but no true sleep training.

littlelovely · 04/01/2023 15:28

My first…..about 2.5 years. My second had a lovely stint of sleeping through from 8-12 months. Then nursery and winter illnesses hit and we are back in sleep hell. I’m very tired.

cptartapp · 04/01/2023 15:29

When I stopped bf and put them into their own room at around 3-4 months.

Cyantist · 04/01/2023 15:59

Every child is different. With DD1 we never even had 2-3 hour wake ups. She woke once a night from birth then slept through from 10 days. DD2 was waking more regularly than 2-3 hours until she was way past 2 years.
Hopefully your LO starts sleeping longer soon

eurochick · 04/01/2023 16:35

Mine slept through at 19 months but was down to one wake up a night for a little while before that.

MGee123 · 04/01/2023 22:06

Probably not what you want to hear but you've most likely got a while to go at 8 weeks, and it may well get worse before it gets better. Unfortunately sleep for most is up and down for the first 2 years and obviously worsens with illnesses etc. Our worst stage was 4-7 months (waking every 45 mins). Then got progressively better until 10 ish months when we had another shorter-lived blip. Mostly good since 12 months, sleeps through some nights or wakes once or twice but can often resettle herself or only takes me going in for 30 seconds. Whole thing still goes to pot when she's ill though. Try to just take it day by day and hang in there. It's horrendous but it does get better. Make sure you're accepting help from others as much as possible and rest whenever you can.

Montague22 · 04/01/2023 22:08

I think about 9 months, 2 years then about 18 months.

Somuchgoo · 05/01/2023 00:50

Somewhere around 18m we started to get done stretches of more than 2-3hrs. Started sometimes sleeping through at 2. Stopped at 2.5.

Now 3.5, and tonight is fairly typical - asleep 7.30, awake 10.30, will probably sleep through now (next to me) to 6.45, with the occasional stir. Would properly wake up about 2 again if in her own bed. Sometimes she's awake for a 3 hour block in the night.

Helena1993 · 05/01/2023 04:47

It went up and down. After 4 months 3/4 hrs. During 4 month sleep regression down to 2 hrs. Now probably 4-8 hrs.
The previous posters here didn't sleep train their babies it seems.

NutsandPuffs · 05/01/2023 05:07

By the time my son was six months old he was still usually waking every 1-2 hours. If he slept for longer it was a miracle.

We sleep trained at 6 months using an app called “little ones” and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Lots of support from sleep experts. Very little crying involved (if there had been we would have stopped)- I would definitely call this gentle sleep training and not “cry it out” - more just a schedule of sleeps, naps, meals and snack. The theory being that once the naps are in place the nights take care of themselves. Within a few days our son was sleeping through for 12 hours and napping well. It did give us less flexibility to be our and about during the day - not everyone’s cup of tea- but totally worth it for us. Our son is now 4 years and still sleeps 7-7 ish. Always sleeps well unless he is unwell.

Geranium1984 · 05/01/2023 09:14

Started sleeping through at 12mo.

Was diabolical from 4-8months then got much better from there.

FlamingGoats · 05/01/2023 11:07

6 months when he went in his own room and I stopped breastfeeding.

4 month sleep regression nearly killed me though.
