Just that really… it’s bang on 2.5 hours without fail and was hoping it would get longer.

My 2 month old used to be 4 hourly from 5 days old she was fed every 4 hours but now that she is spending more time alert and awake during the day she seems to want the bottle more and just cries all day for the bottle for the last week she seems to want a constant flow of milk and she’s formula fed it’s exhausting I can barely get any chores done when she’s constantly crying for a bottle but depending on what time her last feed is at before I go to bed she’s usually very good at night and has been from about 6 weeks old she wakes up once at 4am if her last feed is at 12am, but last night a miracle happened she was fed at 9pm and I was too tired to stay awake and I thought she’d wake up at 1am for her bottle which was when she was due but she woke up at 4:30 so she slept for 7 1/2 hrs drank a 5oz bottle and then woke up at 6 drank 2oz slept till 8:30am

2 years - sorry 😞

It took until she was 2.5 to sleep through and lasted a few weeks and she's nearly 5 and doesn't sleep through. She's always knackered.

2-3 hourly wake ups lasted well into her second year BUT she is the worst sleeping kid I know of and most friends with kids the same age had then sleeping through by 6-9 months.

4 years and a bit, but mine was very extreme. Also dropped all naps when she was 16 months old. She was very energetic and I would walk around like a zombie.

Sorry 😟

Three and a half..... Confused

At about 8 weeks they stopped the 3am feed so went 11pm til about 6am. Regressed a bit back and forth over the next year but I'd say 85% of the time it was good sleeping.

6 months? 7-7 since 8 or 9 months

itsallnewnow · 19/07/2023 08:26

Started sleeping through now and again at 6 months then reliably
From 15/16 months

I don’t know why sleep training has such a bad reputation. I researched the subject for about 8 months because I wanted to make sure I didn’t harm my baby and then decided to go for it at about 9 months.
To my surprise my baby was way more rested and happy during the day after only a single night of sleeping through.
It felt as if I did more harm than good by keep soothing my baby during the night with a dummy, bottle, rocking or whatever helped in that moment every time she woke up.

It’s completely fine to let your baby fuss a little. And I don’t mean full on screaming. And I don’t mean leaving your baby to cry for however long, giving them a feeling of being left alone when they need help.
I did 2, 5 and then 10 minutes before I went back in. And she was usually asleep before 10 mins. You have to make sure she had all her calories during the day.
I made sure I watched her during the whole process to see how she reacts.

But sleep training shouldn’t be done too early. Some say at 4 months? IMO that’s too early, I’d say earliest 6 months. Even better to wait 9 months.

Thinking back it really seems much more cruel to not give the baby a chance to learn how to fall back asleep on her own, always needing some kind of crutch.

The opinions differ widely on this topic and I respect when someone thinks it’s not for their family. This is just my observation.

Around 6 weeks old. I really panicked after waking up one morning and seeing it was around 6:30 and he hadn't woke up since 9pm. From that night he consistently (minus 1 or 2 nights) slept through the night and was sleeping 7-7 by a few months. 21 months and still sleeping great. No sleep training involved at all, just pure luck. Hang in there!

Babyboomtastic · 19/07/2023 11:24

My first, about a month, but then they started again at 4m, then from about 6m it was 1-2 wake ups a night barring some spells or sleeping through. She's still the same at 6.

My second, wakes you were initially 2-3hrly, but from 6-18m sleep declined and she woke hourly
Then from 18m-2 it was 3-4 hourly. From 2-4 (now) it's been 0-2 wake ups a night, usually she'll go back quickly if she's in bed with me, otherwise it can be hours.

About 2.5 years here too - but she's autistic and rubbish sleep is a thing for autistic children.

AlltheFs · 19/07/2023 11:30

I can’t really remember, it was before I went back to work at 13 months. Probably about 9 months I think, but then broken by the sleep regression at 12 months. We were EBF and co-sleeping though.
