CSA have been in touch to say the payments are reducing to £60 a month from my ex partner from £150 can he do this? We split nearly 2 years ago and have 1x DD 50/50 but ultimately he chose to leave the family home.

He’s shacked up with somebody else, why shouldn’t he still pay £150 a month? AIBU?

There’s no moral restitution component to the cms payment.

I've done some number crunching OP and it doesn't look good for you.

You say the father has to pay £60 a month via the CMS calculator. You also say you earn a similar amount.

From this I can see that he must earn around £1,800 a month gross. This comes to £1,350 a month net. You must earn a similar amount.

I then put this figure in to the entitledto.co.uk website. This told me that you should get £137 UC and £21.80 CB every week. This comes to around £690 a month. That you get. He would get that instead if he got the child benefit.

He shouldn’t be paying anything at all. It’s 50/50 care.

Just because he left you doesn’t mean he owes you money when he has his child half the time anyway.

If he's 50/50 then you should pay back same so basically no payment shud be paid by him or you so your lucky he's sending anything if he goes to cms should be zero
