So recently we went out and my toddler had fruit shoot and he liked it so I bought some home and he would have it with his lunch or dinner. Slowly slowly he stopped drinking is water and now only wants the juice and won’t drink water at all?! I don’t know what to do?
and it happened all of a sudden like I don’t know if it’s a temporary thing ?

I’d go cold turkey to be honest, and deal with the inevitable fallout. Many of us learn this or a similar lesson. Never get the crap in the first place. They don’t understand the meaning of ‘treat’ - if they like it, they want it to be the new normal.
I have DS2 who at 14 will not drink coke, Fanta etc - only water. We save money!!
I went to an antenatal class where the mw dealt with this head on - never buy toddler juice etc , it’s milk or water only. I know folks who ignored this and let their Dc have a bottle of dilute squash in the cot at night. At 6, said child had 8 teeth removed.

Okay guys everyone needs to calm down. Some of the replies are just 😳 and thank you for some of the replies who are understanding my problem. My baby is a healthy weight child who’s teeth are also in good shape. He doesn’t have any other junk and loves home food. As I said mums make mistake and I am just trying to find a less tantrum throwing solution to get him off fruit shoot. That’s it really.

thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions instead of judging. I will definitely try the water down method or the water bottle one, I think it might be he enjoys the bottle more then the drink lol so will definitely try to give him water in the bottle and sees how that goes.

Sometimes the only way to get your kid to drink water though is by adding dilute.

Bit of a difference between buy everything they want and let the kid have a fruit shoot is there not?

Of course, I just didn't know why that poster thought it was laughable to suggest just not buying fruit shoots, and that anyone suggesting it couldn't possibly be aware of what it's like to have a 2 year old.

@BonesOfWhatYouBelieve
literally this! Once he starts a tauntrum he just won’t stop it’s tiring so I was just hoping on find a way where I can gradually get him off fruit shoot

Those bloody fruit shoots. Same thing here. He didn’t even know what juice was until he turned 2 as I never gave it to him. It was introduced as a treat and now it is all he wants.

If we are out I will get him one, but he always has a water bottle accessible and I always encourage him to drink it. At home I give him very watery squash, we are talking maybe a tablespoon of squash with water. I have been known to stick it in the fruit shoot bottle when he’s really not drinking much.

I should add that most fruit shoots don’t have sugar in them, nor does the squash I give him. Loaded with sweetener though so that’s why I hate it.

Toddlers have tantrums. Of course he will stop, he can't cry and stomp his feet forever. You just need to ride it out. It will be a lot quicker in the long run than messing about diluting juice for weeks on end.
