Best pushchair for rough terrain

Looking for a single pushchair / stroller / buggy for bumpy woodland roads. Not too keen on the out n about 3 wheeler look, but I am aware they're great for all types of surface.

Any suggestions would be great!

Out and about! It went over anything! Was our life saver in lockdown as we proper off Roaded with it. Very comfy for DS and coped with DD sitting on the canopy. I can’t recommend it enough for outdoors. We used it for 2.5 years and passed it on where it is currently still taking a 1 yo up mountains.

bit of a pain in the butt in shops but hardly ever used it in that scenario.

iCandy Peach

Another vote for this one - it’s brilliant

mathanxiety · 17/08/2022 21:47

Get one with big wheels.

Speedweed · 17/08/2022 21:49

Microlite - copes with anything, even being dragged down a pebbly beach.

Crazytoddler83 · 17/08/2022 21:50

Depends on how bumpy and how muddy. I have an iCandy peach and an out and
about. The iCandy peach can only manage our wooded dog walk in summer. The out and about is brilliant all the time (except in shops!). Both have easily lasted 2 children.

lauryloo · 17/08/2022 21:51

Out n about or a baby jogger

Greenbks · 17/08/2022 21:53

Oyster 3. I have two and oyster 3 is one of them.
I take it out when I need a sturdy pram for rough terrain

AnotherNC22 · 17/08/2022 21:55

Uppababy vista is great. If you don't want to spend £££, you can usually pick them up in decent nick second hand online.

MGee123 · 17/08/2022 22:00

3 wheelers are better over rough terrain so you'll have to decide whether aesthetics or functionality are a higher priority for you. We've got the Mountain Buggy Terrain which I have found fantastic. Not yet found a surface it can't cope with and comes with 2 sizes of back wheels for you to switch as needed. Also no need for additional carrycot etc for newborn as it goes flat. Only drawback is without the extra carrycot or car seat adjuncts, baby can't face you. Can't say it bothered us particularly - our daughter quickly got used to facing outwards. Also much more reasonable than a lot of options on the market.

If you don't mind second hand then see if you can get hold of a maxi cosi mura 3 wheeler. The seat isn't great but turns out it's compatible with my Adorra seat.

I haven't yet found anything that chassis can't get through. We use the Adorra wheels for around town and the mura chassis for visiting friends who have animals down gravel tracks into muddy fields. It has never missed a beat.

I have a bugaboo buffalo but the newer version is the fox. It's amazing, goes over sand aswell as all other terrain.
I've not had a problem using it anywhere and I live rurally in Cornwall

stormy11 · 17/08/2022 22:15

I also recommend micralite

T0rt0ise · 17/08/2022 22:50

Three wheeler all the way. We have the mountain buggy terrain which is fabulous, cheaper option is outnabout, more expensive is Thule urban glide.

frodoxjodo · 17/08/2022 22:55

Has anyone tried the Mountain Buggy Swift?

NameChange30 · 17/08/2022 23:00

Get a 3 wheeler. I almost bought the Mountain Buggy Swift. Ended up getting a Bugaboo Fox as I wanted more of an all-rounder (not just all-terrain) and the Fox is pretty good on rough terrain but not as good as a 3 wheeler would be.

With Mountain Buggy you can get a carrycot plus which allows you to have the child parent-facing, I think MB are the only 3 wheelers that do (but I might be wrong).

Hugasauras · 18/08/2022 02:14

Another vote for Out n About Nipper. Goes over anything.

ChickpeaFlour · 18/08/2022 02:24

We have the Mountain Buggy Terrain and live by really bumpy tracks but I find it less stable than our Bugaboo , I wonder if that’s just me . It’s very easy to push and has lovely suspension though

PoTayToes80 · 18/08/2022 06:19

We’ve got the Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle which is between the Terrain and the Swift and it’s been great so far.

The carrycot converts to a parent facing seat which we’re currently using.

One of our neighbors has an Infababy which also looks good.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 18/08/2022 06:26

I had a Phil and Ted's, could take it anywhere

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 18/08/2022 06:30

Out n About Nipper 360 is brilliant for all terrain, rough stuff. Off road etc, but can be awkward in supermarket aisles.

P&T Sport is a very good all rounder

NatMoz · 18/08/2022 06:34

I have an Out N About Nipper sport (use it for running too) and it's fantastic, i have the Uppababy Vista too and it is no where near as good as the OnA. My husband refuses to use the Uppababy anymore

Lavender2021 · 18/08/2022 06:34

If just for walks the out and about nipper sports can go over most things as it has bike size wheels, you can often find them secondhand.
I have a mountain buggy swift for daily life and it's fine for tracks and trails but add grass, sand and mud it begins to struggle and it's quite small, my small two year old is starting to look like she's outgrown it.
You have the mountain buggy terrain with it's big wheels as well.

Imaginary · 18/08/2022 10:16

We have a Bugaboo Fox 2, and it's great for all terrain!
