Our tooth fairy is slightly hard up so only gives a shiny £1 coin, but it cannot be in any other form than £1 coin, cue some frantic knocking on neighbours doors in search of change!!

Hulababy · 17/01/2008 21:49

DD hasn't lost any teeth yet but all her friends appear to get £1 from the tooth fairy.

£1 a tooth. 1st one gets more. Big back ones will probably be £2 but i really hate doing the whole tooth fairy thing!

(DS's have both had a tooth come out while at their Dads. He gives £5 )

juuule · 17/01/2008 21:53

£1 for first tooth. 50p for all others. Unless late like the tooth fairy calling at Jura's house and then it's also £1.

saff · 17/01/2008 21:54

blooming heck - glad I read this thread - I had though 50p would be enough

foofi · 17/01/2008 21:55

Normally £2 but depends what's in my purse!

bubblerock · 17/01/2008 21:55

£2 coins from grandma in this house

SlightlyMadShrek · 17/01/2008 21:59

The official average for a tooth is £2.05.

My dentist said so as DTD2s tooth was hanging on by a thread (I think that 'figure' was ppublished that morning from some survey or something.

Anyway, we are not in teh London weighting zone, so the Tooth fairy only stretches to £1 in our house!!!

SlightlyMadShrek · 17/01/2008 22:00

Oh and the dentist did not know where the odd 5p had come from

Pidge · 17/01/2008 22:02

Our tooth fairy is even more frugal - 50p in our house.

DD was only just 5 when she lost her first tooth, and 50p is more than enough, she hasn't even spent her takings from the 4 teeth so far.

Plus the 50p piece is so pretty, and quite a big coin. She was chuffed to bits..

Pidge · 17/01/2008 22:03

JingleyJen - just read your message - stick to your guns with your 50p .

BettySpaghetti · 17/01/2008 22:04

In this house the first tooth is worth £1 plus a book about the tooth fairy.

After that its £1 per tooth, although we've already had one late visit so tooth fairy had to leave an apologetic note too (and that was only tooth no.3 on child no.1)

luciemule · 17/01/2008 22:06

It's a £1 in our house but DD has informed us that she'll be saving all of her teeth in a jar first, then putting them under the pillow in one go so she gets £20 - she said she might spend the individual pounds on sweets and instead wants the 20 for something really big!

lucykate · 17/01/2008 22:06

in our area, its a wii and at least a couple of games

dss gets a score.
i kid you not.
his mother is clearly certifiable.

BettySpaghetti · 17/01/2008 22:08

oh, meant to add that DD is more than happy with £1 as her bestfriend only got some random amount like 34p recently

(friends parents are not poor by any means but are notoriously disorganised though so I can imagine them scrabbling around down the back of sofa, in the ashtray in the car etc trying to scrape together some money.)

lucy5 · 17/01/2008 22:08

It's ? 2 in our house, although my dad told dd yesterday that the tooth fairy brings paper money which increases with every tooth. He's such a joker!

OverMyDeadBody · 17/01/2008 22:10

you have the makings of an entrepreneur luciemule!

ingles2 · 17/01/2008 22:12

£2 for 1st tooth £2 per top front tooth £1 per any other tooth! Ds1 wrote a long letter and my lovely lovely 1st AP wrote back a tiny little letter with glitter and sparkles bless her...

suwoo · 17/01/2008 22:15

My DD's best friends tooth fairy left £10, yes, thats £10. I was overheard mumbling under my breath that 'I won't leave you bloody ten pounds' and DD said 'its not you mummy who decides, its the tooth fairy. OK

Twiggypiggy · 17/01/2008 22:17

£1 coin, but if Grandma and Grandad are here, the insist on leaving money too.

catok · 17/01/2008 22:25

Tooth fairy leaves money (£1 for singles, £2 for doubles)and also a note or letter.
Tooth king is building a new palace - he only wants sparkling clean teeth. If tooth has not been recently or well cleaned, Tooth fairy leaves a disappointed note. Amazing how clean the teeth have been!!
