Leaking nappies. What to put over?

Ds (15m) wees through everything on a night and regularly wakes up soaked.
He is in 6+ nappies which are fine in the day.

I have tried different brands, sizing up, sizing down but the only thing that works is a bamboo nappy liner. However, I hate having to clean the liners, especially as he sometimes poos as soon as he wakes.

Is there anything that I could put over the top, instead of inside to stop the leaks?

Thanks JK24 but I haven't only tried two. I've tried all of the ones that I can think of
Aldi, Morrisons, Lidl, pampers, Tesco, Asda, boots and others.

Apologies I misread your post. I would defo down size though as 6 plus seems big at this age. Other than that speak to HV for recommendations

Is the nappy actually fully saturated and heavy? Size 6 sounds big at that age so maybe the leaking is down to size and fit rather than capacity?

For context, my 2yo is in size 4 and my 3.5yo wears size 5 nappy pants overnight. Both are long and slender so if your child is more sturdy then you probably need a bigger size but a 6 at 15m seems big to me.

Make sure the penis is pointing down when you do the nappy up so the urine flow hits the bit of the nappy with the most soaking capacity.
Make sure the ‘flaps are out’ so the side walls of the inside bit of the nappy are standing up (sometimes they get stuck down in the manufacturing process) and that the outside edges of the nappy dont get tucked back under the leg elastic bit

If those tricks dont help, put another larger nappy over the top or cut back a bit on bedtime drinks

6+ sounds huge for a 1yr old. My 2 Yr old is in size 4.

Is he drinking overnight? Or drinking loads before bed?

My dc used to leak overnight at the front of the nappy, I pulled the front of the nappy up higher and secured it with the tapes pointing down slightly, so they met in the middle with a 'v', it stopped those leaks, where is the vest wet? Front, back, sides?

Use a disposal nappy liner (you can buy rolls of them) over the bamboo booster. Also consider getting a hemp Tri fold booster as this will give even more absorbency.

If you are putting a waterproof nappy cover over the top, be sure he doesn't overheat (more of a problem in summer).
