how can I find a good clinic for single jabs? We've decided this is what we'll get done for DD.

We're in London...

GM - had dd and ds's done at the Breakspear in Hemel Hempstead - found them to be fantastic here

I really don't like the tone of the NHS/DoH... I went to the NHS website, they seem to make it sound as if the single jab option isn't as good as the MMR! No real discourse about any alternatives whatsoever.

Frankly, that makes me more nervous about it...

list of clinics her although prices are a bit out of date, the contact details are still good

yurt1 · 03/01/2008 23:21

No Breakspear don't unfortunately (ds1 has been o the waiting list to see a dr there, but can never sort my head around getting up there) I will double check next time they ring for an appointment though. As far as I can work out a single or DT jab just isn't made for peadiatric use now (they had to remove the last one because it contained mercury which they decided was 'theoretically safe' rather than actually safe.

HappyMummyOfOne · 03/01/2008 23:36

I went with the separate jabs through a private clinic - they were done by an NHS doctor who closed his surgery one afternoon a week to just do these jabs.

Service was excellent and after researching the clinic etc, I felt safe in my choice.

Not planning on having any more children but if we did would definately go this route again.

Seperate-my doctors claimed they would throw me out if I didn't let dd have MMR and went for seperates instead-that seemed v v wrong to me so went seperate and am so glad I did-two other boys I knew got autism (obviously may not be related at all, but the doctors threatening me really scared me!)

thebecster · 04/01/2008 11:34

OMG that's unbelievable that your GPs would throw you off the list for making a choice like that! Am so shocked! My GP is less than impressed with me choosing separates, but since he failed to diagnose DS and me with measles I'm not that impressed with him either. I'm sure we'll learn to live with each others disapproval

nappyaddict · 12/01/2008 12:33

i always thought i would give seperate but i now know someone who's child was vaccine damaged by the single measles vaccine.
