DS is 15 months and LOVES books! We read each one multiple times daily and I’m getting a bit fed up with our current selection!

What’s YOUR favourite book to read your child? And what’s your child’s favourite?

He’s a big fan of all the Julia Donaldson ones - especially Tabby McTat 🤣 we have a great litter secondhand book shop in our village so would love to go a walk today and hunt for some of your recommendations 😊

At that age my DS loved the younger JD books especially Chocolate Mousse for Greedy Goose and Animal Music, and grew into slightly older JD's like The highway rat and The Scarecrow Wedding

Also The slinky Malinki/Hairy Mclary books by Lyndley Dodd,

But the most loved in our house was definitely Jez Alborough...seemingly simple ideas but very lyrical with the most perfect illustrations, esp 'Duck In a Truck' and 'Some Dogs Do'.

"When Sid set off for school one day
A Happy Feeling came his way,
It filled him up so much he found
His paws just lifted off the ground
WIthout a how, without a why
Sid fell up towards the sky" Grin
(from memory so might not be perfect!)

We love all the Julia Donaldson books in this house. Another firm favourite is Giles Andrae, particularly:
Keep Love In Your Heart (impossible to read without a lump in your throat though)
Giraffes Can't Dance
Be Brave,Little Penguin
