rofl

I'm even more eco-friendly than washable hankies- sleeves- you wash them anyway !!!!!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 12/12/2007 12:39

pmsl @ the sleeves.

Yes to san pro, no to hankies most of the time.

PrettyCandlesAndTinselToo · 12/12/2007 12:39

Maybe I shouldn't bother with tissues either - all 3 of mine have runny noses ATM, and I have horizontal snail-trails across my clothes at mid-thigh, waist, and chest levels.

Which was what made me ask the question.

I used resuable nappies for DD and I use washable sanitary towels. We do use paper tissues though - there's something about cotton hankies that makes me think of my dad.

juuule · 12/12/2007 13:06

Yes

claireybabyboy · 12/12/2007 16:24

No, but I have been wondering why I find that gross and not nappies...no logic!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 12/12/2007 16:29

I found it gross to start with, then had to switch to a mooncup for pain issues. I then started having problems with the mooncup so decided to be brave and try it - they are sooo nice. You don't realise how sweaty and plasticky disposable ones are until you try cloth ones. Even them being more bulky doesn't make me want to go back to disposables.

tutu100 · 12/12/2007 19:29

I use cloth pads as I'm sensitive to most sanitary towels and I have never got on with tampons so haven't even dared try a mooncup.

I cloth towels very comfortable and you soon get used to them being only slightly bulkier than conventional pads.

NAB3littlemonkeys · 12/12/2007 19:30

I have developed a mind problem with using tampons lately so use pads but would be interested in washable ones.

RoskvaAteSantaUnderTheXmasTree · 12/12/2007 19:34

tutu, I didn't get on with tampons, but my mooncup is amazing - wish I'd had the guts to get one sooner.

clur79 · 12/12/2007 19:38

No, but I am also the same as Claireybabyboy, strange??

Nappyhatessantazone · 12/12/2007 20:03

cloth hankies for me yes as they stop nose getting sore (im such a wuss!), no on kids though as i think the germs need chucking. Hmmmm the mooncup scares me as i read someoen who cut the stem to short or something and it got stuck and going to a and e doesnt appeal to me in that situ - i have ordered some san pro and am enthusiastic about it but not to hanging it on my line in the summer for my nosey neighbour to enquire.

Nappyhatessantazone · 12/12/2007 20:09

they are quite expensive arent they - herei go...., which do you all use - ive ordered some heiny ones for a friend and i but was going to order fuzzi ones also for myself to compare..... enlighten me.....

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 12/12/2007 21:07

Don't bother with the fuzzi ones. Get weenotions fairy hammocks - the best I have tried.

onepieceoflollipop · 12/12/2007 21:09

Mooncup and washable panty liners - but they "move" about a bit so use "normal" liners in the day.

Anyone know if you can compost snotty tissues? If so then that makes me feel better as I can't stand the thought of cotton hankies!

Nappyhatessantazone · 12/12/2007 21:12

well we had a laugh about them as my friend was humming and haring over blueberries or strawberry weenotion ones and was having a proper dilemma - i was like hmm well are you going to be getting them out and showing everyone???? ffs! lol! DH was asking what i wanted from santa - this could be his new interesting evil mission!

Bluestocking · 12/12/2007 21:13

You can compost tissues, within reason, but make sure they're mixed with other stuff. I used washable nappies but find hankies rather gross (putting snot back into your pocket to keep it at room temp so the germs can breed at their leisure - no thanks). Washable sanpro? Might consider it for nighttimes but I don't think it would be all that practical for daytime especially when I'm at work.

moljam · 12/12/2007 21:13

i use fairy hammocks.

WigWamBam · 12/12/2007 21:13

I didn't use washable nappies, but I do use washable sanpro. Fairy Hammocks are lovely (even though the name is slightly corny).

And I have no problem hanging them on the line to dry ... chances are next door wouldn't have a clue what they are anyway!

Nappyhatessantazone · 12/12/2007 21:16

back on the moon cup thing without being gross i drop everything and could imagine an embarrassing toilet scene at work! will go look at the weenotion site and try NOT to buy more nappies....

normabutty · 12/12/2007 21:19

I use washable pads (no to mooncup as never liked tampons). Use tissues and compost them.

I love my washable pads - am building up quite a collection. Dh is buying me some for xmas...can't wait to see FIL's face
