Post your woes (or joys) here if you're currently tackling 2 kids under 2 (please say i'm not alone!)

DS1 is super wingey today and driving me batty...the slightest thing and he's whining and crying.

Have managed a 10 min walk with pushchair to get out of house. DS1 watching far too much TV, i haven't brushed my hair and the dog won't stop barking.

I need some gin.

DS1 can be extremely loving and gentle, often surprising us all, but as of late he's been pushing DS2 over a lot and this morning he lifted a toy car (a fairly big one) and let it fall on DS2's feet...othertimes he will not even take a treat unless his brother gets some too, what to do?

Needless to say another long walk on the cards as all day at home drives me crazy.

2 dds - 20 months and 2 months - both poorly and waking up each other at night (who said you had to be a child to be whingy ).

Top tips: 1) Put the younger one in a bouncy chair - keeps mine entertained to watch the older one run around and me sorting the kitchen or whatever. 2) When the older one is having a bath, use the time to sort/clean the rest of the bathroom. 3) Look forward to the day when they will be playing with each other and you can sit back and enjoy a good book...

NewDKmum - You have my sympathies - we have just moved DD2 in with DD1 - that is what i am worried about....

We have a babywalker and DD2 chases her sister round the house while DD1 shouts chase chase! Quite funny to watch (plus it gives me a moment with a kitkat and coffe!)

Hi, mine now 4 and 3 and can sympathise with all of you - it does get easier though - primarily when one of then goes to school!!!!

3missyshohoho · 05/12/2007 13:40

Thanks for the ray of hope monkey! I love my girls to bits and are good most of the time but like as the poem goes when they were wer good they were very very good but when they were bad they were horrid!

hi momma >>>>

annoyingdevil · 05/12/2007 14:38

Mine are 2.7 and 16 mths and the youngest is teething - aaaargh! he's been waking up every hour for the past two nights

sweetkitty · 05/12/2007 14:41

I used to have 2 under 2 they are 22 months and nearly 3 1/2 now (18 month gap) and I am pregnant again.

It does get better once they little one isn't a baby and can interact with or should that be fight with the other one. DD2 thinks she is DD1's twin and screams when we leave DD1 at nursery. I have also found that DD2 has done everything much quicker than DD1 did as she just copies everything DD1 does.

claireybraxtonhicks · 05/12/2007 14:50

Following with interest...have dd 18 months and no 2 is due on Monday. Can I please be extravagent and order a (bottle of)Taittinger to toast the birth? I'll go back to gin or red wine afterwards I promise

merrykatyt1 · 05/12/2007 15:47

will keep up with everyone and join you on the gin / vodka and red wine as soon as I can!

buddum · 05/12/2007 17:29

i thought a lovely new kari-me sling was to be our salvation.

until the baby fell out as i was chasing dd round the room trying to change her nappy . thank god for my super quick reactions, no harm done except to my blood pressure

having said that, sling plus hippy chick hip seat seems the only way to travel from car to destination. if you can get over feeling like a mule, that is

Chaotica · 05/12/2007 17:50

Have any of you noticed that when you've only got one dc to look after, life seems really easy (almost like a holiday )? (Eldest is at the childminder's today and I actually washed my hair and went shopping for myself )

On the other hand, while I was out I realised that the real reason the parent and toddler section of car-parks exists with extra wide spaces 'for pushchairs' is because frazzled sleep deprived parents probably kept crashing while they were trying to park. (who me?? )

Hello all, myself and a few others did start a thread very similar to this a few weeks back, but too bloody busy to carry it on so can I join yours.

I have a 20mth old and a 5mth old and frazzled is not the word. In bed now and sitting down with a glass of chardoney !! Isn't it funny how all the nice things begin with ch, ie chocolate, cheese, cherries etc.

Yes I am mentally deranged but I guess you all know how that feels

hazeyjane · 05/12/2007 19:27

Hello everyone, my dd's are 20 months and 6 months. The first few months were pretty hard, especially as we moved when dd2 was 6 weeks old, but it is either
a)getting easier as they get older
b)my standards are dropping much lower
or
c)I am so knackered that the screaming and chaos just goes over my caffeine addled brain.
We have just moved them both into the same room, which could either be wonderful (they do look very cute in there tucked up in there cots) or an act of utter stupidity (more likely).
I'll have a glass of red wine please (I've actually already got one, so maybe just a half)

hazeyjane · 05/12/2007 19:30

And Christmas

lulalullabye · 05/12/2007 19:31

Hello hazeyjane, our thread died a bit didn't it ! Maybe it's because we didn't add the alcohol .
