@Liervik that’s a real shame. I’ve had some great chats with mates about breastfeeding, some found it easy, some found it tough, some couldn’t do it all. I found everyone really supportive, even in NCT where I thought they’d really push breastfeeding. I found these discussions with friends and new mums at the NCT really helpful and encouraging, I’m sorry that hasn’t been your experience.

That it's the hardest thing you'll ever do and you'll never be truly off duty till you're dead. I probably should have clicked when I saw my 90 year old granny worrying and fretting over her 65 year old son!

The problem with breastfeeding is that those who proceed and have no trouble are almost always unable to appreciate the problems some people have. That did not help confront the breastfeeding is best mantra that prevailed 25 years ago and probably still does.

I agree the best way to feed a baby (in the west) is the way that works best for the mother, sans guilt.
