So if bubble and year group in nursery closed am I entitled to getting extra hours. I think I know the answer is probably no. It's just I was wondering given the nursery receive fudding for his place if they them can't provide those 15 hours can I ask for them back. I'm just thinking as if I was paying privately I'd get my money back

@minipie

No, they will be using the funding to pay thei rent and staff and keep the nursery going while closed.

And if you were paying privately you wouldn’t get the money back, parents all round the country are paying for nursery they can’t use due to isolation

Sorry it sucks

These parents are entitled to a refund.

If the nursery is closed, they don’t get the funding.
Registers are taken and sent of to the LA each term and the funding is allocated accordingly.
So yes, YABVU

Thanks @Kolo for that info. I obviously won't be asking for his hours back. It would have been nice. He has three more days in total and then a long break and back again in September. I guess I just felt a few more days before he broke up would have been good because it's taken a while for him to come out of his shell. Hopefully in the next year he will become more confident.

Quick update. Spoke to nursery today about paying for my little one to have a few extra sessions at nursery as he's really started to settle in and I don't want him going back all shy after the long break. It was proposed to me (I didn't ask) that he could have his time back over the holidays. They obviously care about his social development which is just lovely. So just thought I'd let people know the outcome.

Another update, my 3 year old came out smiling again and has finally come out of his shell. His one day a week nursery over the hols is really helping him and I'm so grateful to the nursery for caring. Despite the many naysayers on here. I've paid for one last session so he will go once every week until he is back in September.
