Best Cbeebies shows for babies (please don't hate on me!)

Anticipating some negative comments here but I sit my baby in front of the TV for short periods of time occasionally when I REALLY need to get something done like have a shower and I've exhausted all my other options! Just an exhausted mum trying to get by 😩 However I've found that he's not interested in a lot of the shows on Cbeebies, especially the ones aimed at older children with lots of language and storylines as I think they go over his head a bit. It means I can't just put Cbeebies on and get in the shower because he ends up crying if the show changes and he doesn't like it 🙈 He likes ones with simpler language and lots of music/noises and bright colours like Yakka Dee, Twirlywoos and The Clangers, so I've series linked these on our Sky Box. Can anyone recommend any others for a bit of variety?

Baby Jake. Mine loved it. You may find you have baby tv with your sky subscription. Mine liked that in short bursts when they were young.

FelicityPike · 09/02/2021 09:53

Tik Tak (it’s on at lunchtime). Hey Duggee.
BabyClub. In the night garden.

ImNotShpanishImEgyptshun · 09/02/2021 09:54

CBeebies is a godsend, no judgement here. YouTube had some sensory videos from a channel called HeyBear, which has music and bright shapes dancing around. Netflix also has a lovely show called Buddi, bright colours and gentle characters.

Baby DD's CBeebies favourites are probably Hey Duggie and TikTak.

My little one likes Yakka Dee and Twirly Woos too. Also Teletubbies. Tik Tac. Night Garden. Something Special (Mr Tumble). How old is your baby?

curiouscatgotkilled · 09/02/2021 09:56

mine loved the Baby Einstein videos on YouTube. I know there is no actual benefit to them but I liked them because the images move slowly and the noises are not too annoying. Baby #3 thought they were the best!
(for short periods, 5am wakes ups etc etc)

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 09/02/2021 09:57

Hey Duggee
Ben and Holly
Numberblocks / Alphablocks

Ignore any negative comments - you do what works for you. Smile

No judgement at all! When my boys were babies I would sometimes put them in the bouncer on the bathroom floor and sing songs whilst I showered!

How about these; Tik Tak is full of lots of colours and sensory things, it's quite a new one, the baby club, teletubbies, raa raa the noisy lion is a really cute one too. There is a baby channel on sky too which could be worth checking out.

Little ball on YouTube (from babyTV iirc) occupied my very fractious and difficult lo when I needed to eat, tend my other lo or just have 10 minutes staring into space.

Football is also good as it’s constant movement and bright coloured strips.

You’re allowed to take care of you’re own needs as well op Flowers

THNG5 · 09/02/2021 10:00

Baby Bum on Netflix or Prime. You can find them on YouTube as well.

Twizbe · 09/02/2021 10:02

Currently under a blanket watching CBeebies with my two. It's too cold to go out and we're having a snack.

CBeebies has some great programmes that are really educational, so no judgement from me.

Top ones for baby based on my two

Hey Duggee (this has loads of jokes for the adults too)
Jojo and gran gran
Tik tak
Baby club
Dip dap (or little creature as my son calls him)
Tinpo
Yakka Dee
In the night garden
Moon and me
Bing (though this one just drives you nuts - what the hell is Flop!!!)

EcoCustard · 09/02/2021 10:02

There’s a great 1/2 hour show on CBeebies at 5.30 am it’s a calming sensory type one, before mr tumble and baby Jake. My very early riser loves it. If you can record and watch on catch up.

ElspethFlashman · 09/02/2021 10:04

Twirly Woos

Night Garden.

Anything from Baby TV (it's in some cable packages but you can get it on YT), mine was obsessed with Stick with Mick.

ElspethFlashman · 09/02/2021 10:06

They really love Dip Dap but be warned its only about 2 minutes long so not much use!

Moon Baby is the new one and is very soothing.

DisappointingAvocado · 09/02/2021 10:07

Baby bum and Timmy time

greensnail · 09/02/2021 10:10

When mine were babies they sometimes watched in the night garden on bbc2 and then I switched over and they watched it again on cbeebies. I suspect if we'd had iPlayer on the TV then we would have squeezed in a few more we episodes during the day as well 🤣

custardcat85 · 09/02/2021 10:11

Hey Bear Baby Sensory on YouTube is an absolute godsend. Allows me to actually have a hot cup of tea once or twice a day!

WhenTwoBecomeThree · 09/02/2021 10:13

Do you have Baby TV channel? DD also loves Hey Duggee, Magic Hands and Ben and Holly

Lelophants · 09/02/2021 10:13

Tik tak, teletubbies (althoguh I prefer the old one you can get on Kidstubel). I like in the garden as real wildlife!

Lelophants · 09/02/2021 10:13

'In the garden'

mogtheexcellent · 09/02/2021 10:15

Dd loved 'show me show me', twirlywoos and duggee at that age.

Avoid Baby Jake - awful earworms. My rule is if you can't enjoy or tolerate as an adult then i don't let them watch it Blush

Notlostjustexploring · 09/02/2021 10:16

I'm quite partial to octonauts and go jetters myself.

The ultimate nuclear option for us is Coco Melon videos. Utterly annoying but mesmerising for wee ones.

DavidsSchitt · 09/02/2021 10:19

I don't know which channel it is but mother goose club.

You're welcome 😉

Tucancrossing · 09/02/2021 10:19

Thanks so much for the suggestions. Unfortunately we're on the most basic Sky package so no Baby TV channel. I can't deal with In The Night Garden it's so trippy 🙈 But will definitely check out some of the other suggestions!

My girl liked Bing first, and then Yakka Dee.

SqeakyHindge · 09/02/2021 10:21

Baby Jake

Mine wasn’t much for being into TV until little bit older then Mr.Tumble, Peppa Pig (irritated me) and in night garden.
