I think its fab.............if you have room and more money thn sense.

TheApprentice · 31/10/2007 09:48

That is revolting, but I bet loads of parents would buy it. How much does it cost?

CadaverousCorpulentCarmenere · 31/10/2007 09:49

good exersice too on a rainy day.

GarrottedbyElasticband · 31/10/2007 09:52

crazy

dyzzidi · 31/10/2007 09:52

Ok so personly i wouldn't but it but if you lived in a flat in the inner city with not much park life i suppose it would be easy exercise and safe as kid not on bike on busy roads.

namechangingregular · 31/10/2007 09:53

if you had the room i think it would be fun!

totallyfreaky · 31/10/2007 09:53

I think dolls, toy cat and dogs that poo are far worse, I still cant get my head around that, oh and the baby doll that comes with a effing big syringe and needle so you can inject her when she is ill

mindalina · 31/10/2007 09:54

What's revolting about it? Agree with totallyfreaky, perfect for rainy days.

olsmum · 31/10/2007 09:55

just take them outside on their bike! obviously for parents who cant be bothered to go for a nice bike run themselves, thats my opinion anyway.

goingfor3 · 31/10/2007 09:55

At least the child will exercise.

totallyfreaky · 31/10/2007 09:56

or parents with younger children in buggies, making a bike ride impossible.

olsmum · 31/10/2007 09:57

if you need that to make your child exercise???

mindalina · 31/10/2007 09:57

Olsmum - or people who don't have somewhere appropriate to let their kids ride bikes? DS is only diddy but when he is big enough to ride a bike we shall have to trek across town to get to the park or wander miles into the countryside to find somewhere safe for him to cycle - I doubt I'd ever buy one but can't see why it's actually offending people.

goingfor3 · 31/10/2007 10:00

olsmum I'm very lucky that it's safe for my children to bike ride near the house but it's not the case for some people where streets are very narrow and busy.

olsmum · 31/10/2007 10:04

it doesnt offend me, im sure your son will love it when he goes for days out to the countryside with you, i just think that a lot of the time its the parent who isnt having fun and would maybe use this sort of thing. in general kids love to go outside when its rainy or not very nice weather as long as they are wrapped up and cozy, splashing in puddles etc. for instance you say "wander miles into the countryside" but you could take a picnic and if you look for wildlife or collect leaves from trees or look for other things (this time of year-cones, conkers, acorns etc) its actually quite fun and not a chore

Theclosetpagansbesom · 31/10/2007 10:05

Sorry but can I just say to those of you who are sneering and looking down your noses at parents who might buy this "GET OVER YOURSELVES"

I just don't see the major problem with it - it's meant to be FUN for goodness sake. It doesn't take away from days out and cycling in the park. I can think of far worse toys out there(that Barbie with the dog and pooper scooper for instance).

My DS is too old for it but when he was younger I bet he would have loved it... and yes I am the type of saddo parent who might have bought it for him - does that make me " a parent who can't be bothered" - we had loads of fun on DS's little bike when he was younger - and we still do now. Buying a child a fun looking toy doesn't mean they won't get exercise elsewhere.

olsmum · 31/10/2007 10:06

i do hate that pooing dog and peeing cat

oliveoil · 31/10/2007 10:07

looks fab to me

lionheart · 31/10/2007 10:09

My DSs would love that. < makes note >

mindalina · 31/10/2007 10:10

Olsmum I wasn't trying to say that wandering miles into the countryside would be a chore for me - on the contrary I'd love it! And you've just given me some wicked ideas on making it more interesting too - thank you

But I only have one child - if I had a couple of different ages, doing different things etc., I can see how something like this would be useful to burn off steam when you can't get out that day. I have a friend whose 2year old gets massively over excited if he can't go outside for whatever reason - she'd love one of these to keep him calm on the days where she has to stay at home!

Agree that dolls (esp animal dolls - bleurgh) that wee and poo and possibly the most revolting things in the world.

mindalina · 31/10/2007 10:11

^are possibly...

dyzzidi · 31/10/2007 10:11

I think its far better than a playstation and we all must know someone whose young kids are glued to that for hours.

OhBloodyHell · 31/10/2007 10:11

great if you live in a city flat.

Loshad · 31/10/2007 10:13

is it any better than a playstation though dyzzidi, and I don't think anyone would suggest they are useful for young children either.
