Are jumperoos worth it?

I have a very active 4.5 month old who just loves being upright and able to move. We have a door bouncer which she absolutely loves, but its not something I feel I can put her without me sitting on the floor with her. Just wondering how worthwhile a jumperoo would be, or would it be a two minute wonder that she quickly outgrows?

My eldest loved it, second not so much so. Check out market place

Best baby item I owned. It was used by each baby for many months. But you have to have a baby that wants to use its legs. My sister bought one and her baby just hung there in it and never tried bouncing!

Ours was amazing for about 3 months.

I would definitely go secondhand, there’s loads of them around

@ReeseWitherfork

I was always nervous about them so bought the skip hop 3-in-1 thingy that turns into a table. I didn't use the jumperoo bit very much but have used the table most days in some form (eating, arts and crafts, as a play station)
This looks great thank you. I wasn't going to buy my 3mo anything big for Christmas but I'm tempted now!

Yes DS loved his jumperoo. Used to put him in it just before nap time and he'd bounce himself to sleep and I'd just pop him in the cot 😂 he used to go wild in it! They do take up loads of space though but you can get the ones that fold up

Findahouse21 · 13/12/2020 20:18

First dd loved it and would stay in all day if I would let her. Second dd hated it. Definitely recommend second hand if possible

Soontobe60 · 13/12/2020 20:21

Mu grandson absolutely loved his! He’d bounce in to for ages, have a little snooze then bounce again 🤣

timeforawine · 13/12/2020 20:23

We had the space saver jumperoo and it was brilliant, daughter loved it

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 13/12/2020 20:25

My boy loves his but I wouldn’t buy new. There’s loads second hand available

AstridAv · 13/12/2020 20:26

No not at full price but great if you get get them 2nd hand at a bargain price.

GlamGloria · 13/12/2020 20:28

Yes but get one second hand if you can

PinGwyn · 13/12/2020 20:33

We were advised to avoid by HV and consultant as they can cause hip issues and stretched calf ligaments - similar to sit in baby walkers.

I know lots of people who have used without problem but personally I never seen the point as mine were quite happy to cruise around or sit with me by the time they were told enough to use it.

Suzi888 · 13/12/2020 20:36

Mine loved it in the shop! Then hated it at home Confused. She loved her inflatable doughnut though.... circle of neglect lol

LajesticVantrashell · 13/12/2020 20:38

I still maintain there are only 20 Jumperoos in the UK and they just keep being sold and re-sold on FB and eBay!!!

museumum · 13/12/2020 20:39

Total life saver!
But only for 3-4 months. We bought second hand and sold again for about the same.

InTheMoodelForStrudel · 13/12/2020 20:42

My first baby was a super fast roller/crawler/ninja and NEVER sat still (I actually used to worry he couldn’t sit up, it was actually that he was just really active), so it was fabulous to be able to pop him in there while I grabbed some lunch or had a cup of tea or answered the door. He loved it and would bounce around manically with a big grin.

DD didn’t like it anywhere near as much, she was a calmer baby and would happily sit on the floor and play with toys rather than motor about constantly like her brother.

I bought ours second and sold it on - there are hundreds second hand so don’t spend loads on a brand new one!

Smellybluecheese · 13/12/2020 20:44

Another who bought second hand here. This was the best thing we bought when DD was a baby. Total life saver. She loved it and it was the only time I could leave her alone without her screaming. Also used to bounce herself to sleep.

Smellybluecheese · 13/12/2020 20:44

(We used it for months, put a box underneath at first).

Plonque · 13/12/2020 20:44

Definitely get it second hand if you can. We did, we used it enough I suppose but I think I would have felt a bit hard done by if I'd have paid £80 or whatever for it.

BikeRunSki · 13/12/2020 20:47

Massive hit for dd. Gave me time to do stuff. We were lucky to borrow one. They are very expressive, but there are a lot around second hand, probably because they are too big to store for the next child.

soughsigh · 13/12/2020 20:48

Mine loved his. He would sit in it for half and hour no bother so I could cook dinner (and this was the baby that wouldn't be put down without crying). We had two, one for the lounge and one for the kitchen - both bought second hand. No clue who buys them new 😂.

goldenharvest · 13/12/2020 20:49

Loved it (both) and gave us some time to eat in Peace.

Smallbus1 · 13/12/2020 20:49

My twins are 7 months and love the jumperoo!

bakingdemon · 13/12/2020 20:51

Yes! I bought our Baby Einstein one secondhand on Facebook for £40 and actually would have got my money's worth if I'd paid pull price. We used it from maybe 6 to 18 months. You just need somewhere to put them down safely sometimes! We used to put ours in the kitchen and he was so happy watching us cooking. I sold it on very easily and will just buy another one the same way if we have a second child.

RosieGirl27 · 13/12/2020 21:14

Mine loves it. I actually have 2. Bought one brand new from Tesco £50 and bought a second hand one for at MIL for a tenner off Facebook. It allows me to go to the toilet in peace/ quickly get housework done.
