Are jumperoos worth it?

I have a very active 4.5 month old who just loves being upright and able to move. We have a door bouncer which she absolutely loves, but its not something I feel I can put her without me sitting on the floor with her. Just wondering how worthwhile a jumperoo would be, or would it be a two minute wonder that she quickly outgrows?

Mine LOVED it. I got one that played a round of applause when he got to 100 bounces and he used to giggle like mad.

Oh and my top tip is to never put batteries in it and they won't have any clue that it could have sound effects. It's more than enough stimulation without anyway.

We've had ours about six weeks and honestly if he gets bored of it/grows out of it tomorrow it was still worth every penny! He absolutely loves it and happily plays in it whilst I get jobs done and it's also helped him develop in terms of strength and the way he is able to interact with the toys (rather than just slapping them to begin with haha) Agree what others have said about it taking up loads of space, it is a massive eyesore but I definitely recommend!

One of my three likes it and the other two had no interest. They are massive and annoying and kind of unnecessary so I vote no!

But if you do want one there are loads on gumtree because they are massive and annoying!

Total godsend for my easily bored, only-happy-upright but slow to sit independently DD1.

We had a jumperoo, Galt play nest, playmat, and eventually a sit in walker (so shoot me) and she used to do 5-10 min max in each before she got bored and wanted to be carried. Those 5-10 mins were my lifeline. (Only napped in moving buggy).

Depends on your baby whether it’s worth it really!

DS1 loved his - he's 12 now and would probably still try to climb into one if he couldGrin

We kept it for DS2 when he came along 4 years later and he hated it with a passion. The look on his face was pure contempt, as if to say 'What the hell is this ridiculous contraption?' He's still a cynical wee so-and-so!

Mine absolutely loved it! Bought one second hand, didn't mind parting with it a few months later when they quickly grow out of it

Hell

Yes!!

Worth every penny and can sell on and get your money back! Even more so if you buy second hand in the first place.

It’s buying sanity......

Paid full price for ours and regretted it hugely when DC1 despised it.
DC2 Used it for a few weeks but that was it.
If you do invest in one try to get a second hand one, that way if it doesnt work out you wont have wasted too much money.

@LajesticVantrashell

I still maintain there are only 20 Jumperoos in the UK and they just keep being sold and re-sold on FB and eBay!!!

I have the same theory about Moses baskets and next to be cribs.

Thank you all for your replies - you have me sold! I learnt pretty early on that Gumtree/eBay was a mums dream for things like this, so have no problem buying one second hand.

Definitely get one. Worth every penny. Not used for long and I've bought new twice. Would definitely buy from Marketplace if I were to do it again.

Mine loves it. I actually have 2. Bought one brand new from Tesco £50 and bought a second hand one for at MIL for a tenner off Facebook. It allows me to go to the toilet in peace/ quickly get housework done.

Yes! I bought our Baby Einstein one secondhand on Facebook for £40 and actually would have got my money's worth if I'd paid pull price. We used it from maybe 6 to 18 months. You just need somewhere to put them down safely sometimes! We used to put ours in the kitchen and he was so happy watching us cooking. I sold it on very easily and will just buy another one the same way if we have a second child.

Loved it (both) and gave us some time to eat in Peace.

Mine loved his. He would sit in it for half and hour no bother so I could cook dinner (and this was the baby that wouldn't be put down without crying). We had two, one for the lounge and one for the kitchen - both bought second hand. No clue who buys them new 😂.

Massive hit for dd. Gave me time to do stuff. We were lucky to borrow one. They are very expressive, but there are a lot around second hand, probably because they are too big to store for the next child.

Definitely get it second hand if you can. We did, we used it enough I suppose but I think I would have felt a bit hard done by if I'd have paid £80 or whatever for it.

(We used it for months, put a box underneath at first).

Another who bought second hand here. This was the best thing we bought when DD was a baby. Total life saver. She loved it and it was the only time I could leave her alone without her screaming. Also used to bounce herself to sleep.

My first baby was a super fast roller/crawler/ninja and NEVER sat still (I actually used to worry he couldn’t sit up, it was actually that he was just really active), so it was fabulous to be able to pop him in there while I grabbed some lunch or had a cup of tea or answered the door. He loved it and would bounce around manically with a big grin.

DD didn’t like it anywhere near as much, she was a calmer baby and would happily sit on the floor and play with toys rather than motor about constantly like her brother.

I bought ours second and sold it on - there are hundreds second hand so don’t spend loads on a brand new one!

Total life saver!
But only for 3-4 months. We bought second hand and sold again for about the same.
