Forgive me, I'm "that parent"

To avoid posting it online/telling the delivery man/calling all my friends, I'm writing on here, because i am So Full of irrational mumpride over nothing, i am being so PFB it is ridiculous, and I'm inviting you to join me (or to roll your eyes so hard your head hurts)

I just got 13m DD's first nursery term report back. It's so bog standard, explores by herself, likes music time, can use a spoon, but i am absolutely bursting with pride. Sentences like "seeks out adults when she's tired and enjoys a cuddle" are making me want to weep with joy.

I had no idea being a parent was going to be like this - i feel like the most ridiculous woman on the planet and i just don't GAF. Is this normal!?

@MsTSwift

I would restrict conversations about things like this to the child’s father only and possibly grandparents. Anyone else will be 🙄 inside.
Gosh aren't you charming! Or perhaps just not very good at reading comprehension? I very clearly stated in my OP that i was starting this thread to avoid bragging to my friends and family about inconsequential things they didn't care about. It seems like lots of people felt the same, and some of these stories were really very heartwarming! If it made you Hmm regardless of the disclaimer, I'm sure you could have just moved on with your day! Hopefully you do have other things to think about.

These are so lovely. We have saved all the nursery and school reports and certificates the kids have received. So proud to look at them. My 12 year old got a story published in a book this year (an actual book!) and I was so so proud. She received a postcard from school this weekend because she has worked so hard in geography, she is a geography star. I love how her school celebrates this and she was so excited to get it. My 9 year old got almost the highest reading score in her class this term and again, I was so proud. Have really only talked about this with the grannies and DH so thank you for starting this thread so I can share xxx

I feel compelled to jump on this thread, it’s just so lovely. My DS is only 5 weeks old and he is my absolute pride and joy. Simple things like watching his neck and shoulder muscles getting stronger everyday and seeing his little smile develop make me burst with pride and sometimes tears lol. I love getting g him dressed everyday and going for our little walks around the village and seeing people coo over him. And when my DH is playing with him, oh my word the love I have for them both is unreal. 😍💖 through my sleep deprived eyes, he is perfect in every way xxx

@DanniCL you're making me want another one!

I love this thread because it is so very much about celebrating the miracle of a developing child, finding joy in the little everyday things, really seeing how amazing the whole thing is.

It is a million miles away from parents getting all stressy because their child has got to prove themselves a child genius.
