Where do u get clothes

Where do u mainly buy clothes for your children from? Just curious. I have a 2.5 year old and a 2 month old both boys

With my eldest I was very much of the opinion that primark was fine as they outgrew the clothes so much anyway. But as time went on ive moved now to M&S and next as I find their clothes much nicer designs and variety and better quality. My mum always gifts my boys these more expensive clothes too which is what got me thinking as her clothes she gifted were always so nice. I find primark a bit hit and miss.

I don't want to throw money away but I want my boys looking nice too. I do often hunt for these makes on eBay too so that it's good brands for cheap

Supermarkets, h and m and matalan generally. Sainsburys do lovely bits.

HP2020 · 07/10/2020 21:14

I've never seen baby stuff in H&M so I must look next time as I get lots of my stuff in there

I do like supermarket stuff also it's just I don't drive so I only get those bits when I'm with hubby whereas next and M&S etc are just a short walk away to my local high street

I get my boys clothes from next, M&S and H&M & River island. Tesco sometimes have nice stuff too.

Legoandloldolls · 07/10/2020 21:20

H&M, Asda mostly. When my kids was younger I went to NCT sales and Ebay for second hand as well. But as they get older they get more wear in between growth spurts and need less anyway as they are mostly in uniform. I love M&S and next but that mostly in the sales. Asda is cheap enough to get things as needed at full price and they are still good enough after a year to hand down, donate or sell on. Much like H&M

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 07/10/2020 21:21

You're welcome! Ive got a 6 month old and have got a few bits and bobs from there

swishswashy · 07/10/2020 21:25

Boden and joules with a voucher code. I have two dd's, the clothes wash well and get passed on so I only buy for the eldest most of the time.

DerbyshireMama · 07/10/2020 21:27

Joules, Next, Boden, Tesco, Little White Company mostly. Next stuff washes and wears fantastically. Joules not so much but I think their designs are adorable.

Heyha · 07/10/2020 21:30

I've developed a 'thing' where I get supermarket clothes for when they are in the early stages of a given size bracket then get M&S, H&M, Next etc for the end point of that particular size as they tend to be cut a little bigger. Frugi and the like when they have a sale on.
I've loved mixed bags of hand me downs and second hand purchases but I've been lucky that I know the people I've had them from and that they are likely to have looked after stuff and don't have taste too different to my own! The second hand stuff is for nursery mainly and gifts etc are kept for at home.
H&M is better online OP and very good!

AWryGiraffe · 07/10/2020 21:38

H&M, Asda and eBay

SameToo · 07/10/2020 21:43

Frugi. Sustainably sourced, cruelty free cotton. And bloody beautiful designs. Can’t argue with that.

CoffeeInAnIV · 07/10/2020 21:45

H&M, Primark and Asda. All have great hard wearing and cheap ranges that wash very well, are true to size and look great.

AshGirl · 07/10/2020 21:48

Morrison's mostly! Their kids stuff is about a billionty times nicer than the adult crap

raskolnikova · 07/10/2020 21:54

I have one daughter and I love browsing eBay for different things for her, although sometimes I buy things full price or at the local Barnado's shop. I like Zara, JoJo Maman Bebe, Frugi occasionally, Primark sometimes, Morrisons... and anywhere in between really.

Charlottejade89 · 07/10/2020 22:03

I'm pregnant with a boy atm and ive bought most things from next or asda. I've bought quite a few nice bits for my daughter in primark but I've found their boys stuff crap. H&m and Zara have nice stuff too

DrCoconut · 07/10/2020 22:03

I find a lot of kids clothes are far too big round the waist. Asda is the best of the supermarkets, tesco the worst. Next stuff fits DS2 really well as it seems to be slimmer cut, just wish it wasn't so expensive. I buy a few key items there and Infill with tops from primark or hand me downs from a friend who has a DS just a bit bigger.

eyesbiggerthanstomach · 07/10/2020 22:04

M&S for most things especially basics like vests and pyjamas and joggers. The prices are good and they wash well.

Zara and Mango have a view good pieces too and sometimes Gap when they have 40% off.

Never Next as I think the items overpriced and the quality isn't great. I always have a zip that goes or have it shrink in the wash.

George or TU for nursery.

Parents and my in laws gift from John Lewis and the items are lovely

vervaininthemembrane · 07/10/2020 22:06

Frugi. Everything I get is from Frugi, it washes brilliantly and I sell it on after its grown out of. Nothing compares in comfort, style and value.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/10/2020 22:08

H&M , love their footless sleepsuits and my kids have big feet 🤣

inappropriateraspberry · 07/10/2020 22:31

Usually the supermarket! I find it good quality and reasonably priced, plus I can pick it up with my milk! I hate trudging out just to get clothes for the children when they're too young to have any real say or interest in it.

Rubyroost · 08/10/2020 00:34

Another one for next and h and m. I find the supermarket brands don't always wear well. I've had a few bits from sainsburys and Morrisoms pleasantly surprised me. Tesco is cheap and nasty and I was surprised there wasn't much fifferec between next and tesco got some trousers that I was looking for, for my 6 month old.

Debradoyourecall · 08/10/2020 08:19

Frugi, JoJo and the local kids charity shop for her nursery clothes.
