How often.....

How often, as a couple, (so if you are a single parent, often when you were with your partner) do you take your kids out, either to the park, as a family, or to a museum or the zoo or something?

Every weekend?
About once a month?
Once every 6 months or so?

I'm not talking taking them out shopping, I'm talking quality family days out.

trains and buses are great entertainment October! IME you don't even have to go anywhere, just the journey is enough for DD (for the time being anyway)

We go out as a family every weekend - but I have to admit that this is as much for my sake as it is for the kids (my 2 year old and baby). Basically if 2 year old dd has been out for a 2-4 hour 'excursion', she is much happier to entertain herself and play with her toys on her own when we get back home.

We try and make a trip to Tesco or B&Q seem like an exciting day out but, strangely, the kids ain't buying it

Now if I had a nearby beach where it was warm enough to paddle in the sea I'd be there every single day...jealous, moi?

Mmm... maybe Dymchurch tomorrow.

For those of you fortunate enough not to know Dymchurch, it's our local seaside: freezing and incredibly windy for 9 months of the year and packed with holidaymakers for the other three! However, it's great for kites outn of season (when windy) and bikes (when not) so I shouldn't complain too much.
