Peeing in the bath

Would you end/restart the bath if your toddler peed the minute they went in? My DD is 18 months and she quite often walks around in the bath moving toys etc and on several occasions I've seen her weeing. I have then taken her out and rerun the bath but this usually results in a tantrum and spoils it. I read conflicting advice online about whether it's even a problem. Any thoughts?

Jeez whose got the time to re run a bath when they have a toddler?! Obviously it's not ideal but urine is probably like 99.9% water anyway.

Skyejuly · 22/01/2020 11:09

No I dont.

QforCucumber · 22/01/2020 11:09

Ds wees in the bath - try lots to get him to go before but sometimes he doesn't No I wouldn't re-run the bath for the sake of a cup full of wee.

No. I do the 2yo hair with the detachable shower head & rise the bubbles off him with it at the end anyway so it wouldn't occur to me to re-run the bath. Thankfully out of the 5dc I've only ever had 1 poo in the bath incident & that was as I was lifting dc4(about 18 months old at the time) out.

Peoplearemiserable · 22/01/2020 11:15

I wouldn’t for a wee, definitely for a poo though!

TobyeBella · 22/01/2020 11:17

No, I wouldn't. It's DS' wee and it's sterile.

XJerseyGirlX · 22/01/2020 11:17

Dd takes great delight in announcing that she has peed in the bath we share when I'm
Still in it. I don't get out ,convince myself it's why my hair is growing quickly atm lmao

Nomorelaundry · 22/01/2020 11:22

Of course it not a problem.

DesLynamsMoustache · 22/01/2020 11:23

DD pees every time we put her in the bath. Think it's the warm water!

ParadiseLaundry · 22/01/2020 11:29

I'll probably get flamed for this but I always encouraged DS1 to wee in the bath at the end to save water flushing the toilet!

Rainallnight · 22/01/2020 11:31

It’s incredibly dilute, it wouldn’t do any harm at all.

Stumpedasatree · 22/01/2020 11:31

I did, it gave me eebyjeebies.

Icedlatte · 22/01/2020 11:35

Nope. It's a natural reaction for them to pee when they feel the warm water, which they can't control until they are older.
When DS was struggling to potty train we would encourage and applaud him to 'use his firehose' in the bath so that he learned the connection between the feeling of needing to pee, and seeing what happens, which is difficult for them to understand when they're in nappies and don't think about it!

happychange · 22/01/2020 11:43

Not for wees but defo for poos!!

Livpool · 22/01/2020 12:18

I don't and my DS always pees in the bath - the second he gets in. He refuses to go if he knows he is getting a bath shortly.

Me and DH draw the line at getting in with him though, which he often suggests! 🤢

DS is 4

Bipbipbipbip · 22/01/2020 12:21

No. It's only wee. Have to stop him drinking the bath water though.
He comes straight out if he shits in it obviously.

NerrSnerr · 22/01/2020 12:23

I'd just leave them in the bath. I don't have the energy to run it again.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 22/01/2020 12:29

Just leave her in it. What a waste of water to rerun it!

Mine does it as soon as her feet touch the water. If I then tried to take her out and wait to re run it, the angry screams would be heard miles away.

aNonnyMouse1511 · 22/01/2020 12:31

My children always wee in the bath. I don’t really care.

DappledThings · 22/01/2020 12:42

Same! If it's anywhere after about 6.15 he has to be absolutely busting to go on the toilet, loves to hold it for the bath. I don't care about it at all.

katee90 · 22/01/2020 12:45

Huh? Why would you?

username00 · 22/01/2020 18:45

Thanks for all the replies. I've only done it a couple of times and then thought 'is this even necessary?', hence the post. On reflection it should really have been a no brainer, I just doubt myself a lot and worry I'm doing things incorrectly. Thanks again

My DS4 often asks to get out the bath as soon as he gets in so he can go for a wee. I try telling him to just do it in the bath but he refuses Confused

Thestrangestthing · 22/01/2020 18:52

😂😂 No

BertieBotts · 22/01/2020 18:54

No Confused how would you even know?
