Just put dd to bed with a motherease all in one on - will it last the night?

I normally use disposables but got a trial of some reusables and have just put dd (6months) to bed with a Motherease all in one nappy on without an additional liner and am now wondering wether I am going to have to go up and change her before I go to bed or will it last out til morning?

Sorry but I am pretty clueless when it comes to reusables - I know I should be ashamed with myself but at least its biodegradable disposables I normally use.

hello, i havent used a motherease all in one so hope someone comes along and advises soon - night nappies are all trial and error and you wont know till you try - all depends on whether a mega peer or not, most night ones do need a bit of boosting but as i say i dont knwo that one so this should bump you up till someone useful comes along.

yelnats · 25/08/2007 21:42

Thanks for bumping!

Ds uswd to go the night in a MEOS at 6 months. Now (8 mths) he would need a booster.

ib · 25/08/2007 21:48

oh, am assuming you mean motherease one size?

nappyzone · 25/08/2007 21:49

motherease all in one?? are you sure there not a motherease onesize? - you put it on and then a wrpa over the top of it? still dont know the answer to your question but kinda bumping you all the way to one....

junkinmytrunk · 25/08/2007 21:51

Motherease do a aio but i think you might need to change in the night or wake up to a soggy baby,

aio's won't generally cope as a night time nappy

yelnats · 25/08/2007 21:53

That must be it - onesize - its towelling inside. Apparently dont need a wrap thingy for it. Has poppers to fasten and fits all sizes.

Thanks for replies so far and keep them coming - I really dont fancy getting up in the middle of the night and have to change pj's sheet, sleeping bag etc.

It depends on the baby is my very unhelpful answer .

Ds at 9mo would go through the night in a MEOS no problem but he's not a very heavy wetter at night for some reason (saves it all for the first nappy of the day).

If it doesn't last you don't necessarily have to give up on it, just use the pop in booster to give it more legs or a microfibre cloth/s folded up under a liner.

bookthief · 25/08/2007 22:01

Does it have a towelling outer too??? If so you DO need a waterproof wrap or you'll definitely be getting soggy sheets. I've not seen a Motherease all-in-one.

yelnats · 25/08/2007 22:06

I think its a one size - no outside of it is not towellign - not sure the name of the material - i;ll try and find one and link to it.

Not tried the all-in-one but with the Motherease one size (plus wrap), I used a booster until DD was about 9 or 10 months, then found I needed another booster to keep her dry all night. Super size bladder maybe?

bookthief · 25/08/2007 22:25

I haven't seen that before but as you said, you don't need a wrap. Fingers x'd for dry sheets in the morning.

nappyzone · 25/08/2007 22:27

can you not prise it open stealthly and stuff something extra in there to aide a dry night? a booster out of another one or something??? or maybe just a pair of armbands lol (sorry shouldnt joke!!!)

beanbearer · 25/08/2007 22:28

Like I say, I've not used the ME all-in-one but kittykins and the nappy lady both seem to think a booster might be useful and that it may struggle to contain all that's thrown at it (generic problem with all-in-ones cos no second line of defence). So maybe don't give up hope with reusables if it doesn't do a perfect job at night... keep trying different combos till something suits you. I've happily used Kushies all-in-ones through the day (cos that's what was available at the NCT sale I went to) with MEOS plus lots of towelling boosters at night.

horsemadgal · 26/08/2007 00:20

Eek wonder how you are doing there.
Motherease all-in-ones are really thin, always need boosting here, even in daytime.
Good luck, M x

FlameBatfink · 26/08/2007 01:48

Eek - found this too late.... dunno if you boosted in the end, but I can't picture a Motherease AIO lasting the night without it...

nappyzone · 26/08/2007 19:04

did it?

FlameBatfink · 26/08/2007 19:43

Intrigued too!

nappyzone · 26/08/2007 21:08

we have gone to bed in a bit of an experiment tonight too - its kinda a occupational hazard these days!

yelnats · 26/08/2007 22:54

Sorry first chance to get on today. I ended up just leaving her as she was til she woke up through the night at about 4am and the nappy was quite heavy - babygro and vest were a bit damp too so i ended up changing her right through and just sticking a disposable on her. Might try again with a booster but not tonight cos I really cant have her getting up in the night and having to change her through again got too early a start in the morning to have a broken sleep.
