No. I sent him back to amazon Confusedbut may depend on your child!

FlaviaAlbia · 18/11/2019 22:17

It seemed to incite rage in DS1 as he flailed around the cot to get it. By the time DS2 arrived it was so grim I took out the electronic inners and threw it in the washing machine before sewing them back in. I can only assume baby brain was the reason I did that instead of binning it.

BikeRunSki · 18/11/2019 22:17

My son hated him. Other babies I knew loved him!

My 4 week old loves him!

Ginger1982 · 18/11/2019 22:19

My son loves him but we also use MyHummy as my Ewan doesn't have a sensor that turns back on upon movement.

Tentontessie · 18/11/2019 22:22

Between my 2 we have eight. Yes you read that correctly.

Eldest has 6 separate ones mainly because we had 2 of the older style ones and kept having issues with them so the fab customer service replaced them. She only reaches for one main and one substitute one really but gets a lot of comfort from being in bed with them all.

Our youngest has two of the newer ones so we can rotate them and have one on hand incase one gets sicked on etc. We don’t use them for white noise but to play the lullaby which they have both come to associate with sleep at around the 6 month mark. Wouldn’t be without them!

modgepodge · 18/11/2019 22:25

Is it a white noise machine? If so we have Ollie the owl which I imagine is similar, and I do think it helps my daughter sleep. When the batteries have run out (a very regular occurrence I’m afraid) we notice a difference. Tonight she has white noise on my iPad as we have no new batteries in the house!

BeanBag7 · 18/11/2019 22:26

Not for us but we didnt introduce it until4 months so maybe left it too late.

FloreanFortescue · 18/11/2019 22:27

Much preferred myhummy. Comes on for an hour each time and senses for 12 hours. Works brilliantly with my now 20mo DS. It was very hit and miss until he was 1.

You must never run out of batteries or bananas!

Nogodsnomasters · 18/11/2019 22:27

No. My son liked it n all but it certainly didn't put him to sleep. Plain white noise worked better and a very dim night light. I used an old mobile phone that no1 used anymore in the room with a white noise app on it.

Autumntoowet · 18/11/2019 22:28

We have a Myhummy and now an owl from the Gro company for new baby

Ohidontknow99 · 18/11/2019 22:29

Ollie the owl is better !

piefacedClique · 18/11/2019 22:29

My two LOVED Ewan! I nearly had a meltdown one holiday when he died before a long haul! Thank god for tiny screwdrivers in sunglasses shops! Battery replaced and normal service resumed! We are MASSIVE fans!

ParkheadParadise · 18/11/2019 22:36

We had a myhummy it did help dd sleep.
Later on we had a gro clock it didn't WORK. Dd would come into our bed and tell us Mr sunshine was still sleeping.

GuyFawkesDay · 18/11/2019 22:38

On our third.....She's 6.

Still pops the music on to self settle.

Ewan is fantastic here!!!

polkadotpixie · 18/11/2019 22:43

Yes! One of the best things we bought. My 14 month old has had one since birth and won't sleep without it

Polkadotdelight · 18/11/2019 22:48

He did and I ended up relying on it to sleep too in the end! With hindsight I wouldn't choose it again as the white noise only lasts 20 minutes and there are no sensors. 20 minutes is shorter than a babies sleep cycle so if have to press it again after 20 minutes to get him through the lighter sleep. I ended up wearing one leg Button out but we did have a poor sleeper.

SnuffleBadger · 18/11/2019 22:54

DS 5 and DD 3 have both had a Ewan since birth and he is still part of their bedtime routine. If my DS wakes in the night he will turn Ewan on for comfort and to help him settle back to sleep. HUGE fans here but I know every child is different.

Bol87 · 18/11/2019 22:57

2.5 year old still loves her Ewan! White noise really helps her sleep - we have both an app on her iPad that makes rainfall noise all night & then she falls asleep to the lullaby on Ewan while cuddling him 🧡

He is just white noise at the end of the day, you could use an app on your phone for free.. Ewan won’t work any better, so maybe give a free app a try first?!

The new version of Ewan has a monitor sensor & switches back on like myhummy & Ollie Owl now! I’ll be getting an upgraded version for baby two! Smile

xtinak · 18/11/2019 23:03

Ewan is so quiet that he is easily drowned out by crying, or just about any other moderate noise. We ended up using youtube and cranking the volume. High. White noise stopped working after a couple months anyway.

mynameiscalypso · 18/11/2019 23:06

God, this thread has just made me realise that I've spent the last three months thinking that our Ollie the Owl was a penguin.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 18/11/2019 23:09

DS still uses Ewan when he is struggling to sleep. He’s nearly 8! DD (4) uses it every night and I have been know for use it too. I say it, I mean them. We have 4 Blush.

Qwertyguerty · 18/11/2019 23:11

Yes. My little one is two and she still loves him, turns the sheep on and off when she wants to. It's no miracle worker but very helpful in having a gentle routine

HabbyHadno · 18/11/2019 23:18

Eldest - didn't work, but loved the Fisher Price seahorse
Middle- worked like a dream. Still uses him now at 2 and a half and switches him on himself when he comes out of a sleep cycle
Youngest - didn't work, but again loves the Fisher Price seahorse

You never know how it will go!
