DS's first baby tooth fell out today.
It's currently under his pillow in a little pot waiting for the TF to visit. I told him how much he gets depends upon how clean it is! Back in 1979 i remember getting 50p. How much should DS get? I reckon i can get about 3 pound coins in the pot..see attached pic

Think we did £2 for 1st tooth and £1 for the rest

Runningsmooth · 14/10/2019 22:06

We do £2 for the first, £1 for the rest.

50p in 1979? Shock I got 10p

£1 but it does seem to have been £1 for a really long time.....

IVEgottheDECAF · 14/10/2019 22:12

Ours leaves random amounts depending on what change i can find around the house

PandaTurtle · 14/10/2019 22:15

£2 or €2 depending on whether the tooth fairy or tooth mouse had visited, DH is French.

soupmaker · 14/10/2019 22:17

Depends on whether it is the rich tooth fairy who visits or poor tooth fairy. Poor tooth fairy been a few times so DD2 suggested maybe we should leave some coins for her! £2 rich tooth fairy, £1 poor one. I'm aware of millionaire tooth fairy who leaves paper money, she'll never visit our house.

georgialondon · 14/10/2019 22:18

£2

Chupchup · 14/10/2019 22:19

£2

LoyaltyBonus · 14/10/2019 22:20

Ours quite often couldn't fly because of undesirable weather conditions and the tooth could be there a few days before she remembered was able to visit

nataliemum25 · 14/10/2019 22:21

£2

megletthesecond · 14/10/2019 22:21

£1.

C0untDucku1a · 14/10/2019 22:23

I did £2, a travel toothpaste and new toothbrush for first teeth.

Beyond that they get £1 or £2, 50p, sometimes 20p. I tell them them the tooth fairies carry bags of coins, they have no concept of their worth, so theyre lucky they dont get the odd euros.

PurBal · 14/10/2019 22:23

I got 20p in the 90s. Seems I was short changed!

WalkAwaySugarbear · 14/10/2019 22:25

£1 here. It's a shiny coin, that's all they're bothered about.

Chocolatedaim · 14/10/2019 22:25

As I used to get £1 in the 90s maybe I should give dd £2?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ To be honest I would like there to be no tooth fairy at all

sandyfoot · 14/10/2019 22:26

My DS was told by a neighbour the tooth fairy left a fiver. Was raging... One shiny gold £ is just right I think

mangomama91 · 14/10/2019 22:26

Its £1 here, but I have heard a few tooth fairies give £5!

C0untDucku1a · 14/10/2019 22:27

When they tell me about amounts other children get i say well that’s because the fairies dont realise that the coins are worth different amounts. It is just shiny coins to them.

I got 20p in the eighties as that all the tooth fairy could carry and anyone who got more it was their parents, was what my
Mother used to say. She got a six pence and a 20p was the closest coin to that.

JoanLewis · 14/10/2019 22:28

£1 here

elQuintoConyo · 14/10/2019 22:37

€1 for the first, 50c for each of the others.

YourEggnogIsBetterThanMine · 14/10/2019 22:38

There's a kid in DD's class who gets £20 a tooth (parents confirmed this) Hmm

We do a £2 coin (or a special 50p if we have one).
