but think how long you sp[end disucssing your own shoe purchases here. start them early i say.

SlightlyMadSpider · 12/08/2007 14:37

I agree with you on all points

BUT

I have children with odd shaped feet and find it very difficult to find 1 pair that fit properly so usually end up trying lots and lots of styles on.

Still I am not in your area (although I was last week and I was buying shoes) - so I doubt it is me annoying you

nutcracker · 12/08/2007 14:37

Not been yet, can't say I am looking forward to it LOL.

Last time I went to Clarks, woman comes in with barley walking child and says she wants the childs feet measured.

Assistant measures the childs feet and then trots off and come back with several styles, at which the mother says 'oh no non of those are any good, she lives on a farm'

Buy her bloody wellies then you nut

I can sense a battle brewing with Dd1 already, as there is no way we will agree on shoes.

Last week I had the pleasure of enduring an hour in John Lewis between waiting for my bloody number to come up and being measured by a spotty teenage boy.

Only to discover he had been brought up from the electrics dept for the day

NOT the sort of stunt to pull on 37 week pg woman.

peanutbear · 12/08/2007 14:46

can we have a shopping without granny hour at clarks then !!!!!!

can she just give you the cash!!!

I'm so looking forward to buying the dc's shoes as the shop assistants in our nearest shop are all "supernanny" and tut at you if you ask your dc if they like the shoe they are being forced to try on. One said she thought I was making a rod for my own back by asking ds if he liked blue or brown. At every turn I fail as a parent even buying shoes.

Ceolas · 12/08/2007 14:48

Left in a fit of rage and went to Mothercare instead.

Middle aged CLarks lady there sorted us out with shoes and plimsolls for both DDs in 10 mins.

Of course they only wanted the ones with the dolls hidden in the heels

nutcracker · 12/08/2007 14:49

I was going to suggest thet peanut but though I might offend her LOL.

Dd1 and me just clash, so it is garunteed that which ever shoes I like, she won't like, thats just the way it goes.
Anyway, we will leave the shop with the shoes I want her to have as I am the adult and she is the child, and she is not paying.

RedLorryYellowLorry · 12/08/2007 14:50

Yeah what's with the gimmicks - ds wants toys in his heal - get a grip.

Pleased abot the weird feet thing Cod....I have to say I am quite getting used to what styles are likely to fit.

And I only take Granny if she is paying and I don't own an iPod

oh I had this from my ds last year and he was eight I told him that if he had normal shoes we would save £10 and he could spend it!!! you have never seen a child change his mind so fast!!!

nutcracker · 12/08/2007 14:53

Do you lot with boys buy the really smart looking shoes or the ones that look a bit like trainers ??

I prefer the smarter looking ones, as they look smart lol, but they also look clumpy.
