I have pathetically skinny feet too. Still can't wear things like flip flops at all, they have to have fastening straps (which I can then adjust and punch extra holes in where necessary!)

Drove my mother mad as a child because of all the shoes which wouldn't fit

I got the black pumps, 2 pairs for £3 in Adams yesterday

Went in to buy wellies for welly obsessed five year old. No wellies. Got both kids measured - both the same - bought dd a pair of shoes because she loved them so - 'dey are school shoes! I am going to school!'
But shop empty so all round good experience. Local shops for local people, that's the ticket.

PHEW... kids hadn't grown as much as I'd feared.

Got there with military precision at 9am precisely and were the first in the shop.

Got ds2 new trainers (for home) and ds1 his school shoes. He still fits his home shoes JUST (will probably grow out of them in a month but at least that's next paycheck). Have decided that I can cram them in their wellies for a bit longer. Managed to get ds1 a very cheap pair of trainers from Woolworths that will do for school (£5). Thomas Tank Lunchbox in sale for £3.45 for ds2.

Final damage about £70. Think I got off lightly.

Two kids 10 mins.

Don't even bother looking at displays. Mutter to assistant - no garish no patent prefer navy trad look(preschoolers).

Acceptable shoes arrive, select nicest ones if they fit job done.

hello I am a Shoe Nightmare

try on every pair of shoe in shop to try and find one to go over dd1's splints

queue builds up

meanwhile dd2 trashes shop by taking everything off display and hitting queuing families with dd1s tripod walking sticks

none of shoes fit except boy trainer

dd1 cries as boy trainer has no pink detail on sole and no flowers

I cry in full view of 14 families with small children/ young teens

assistant sweats

people leave shop going 'that poor woman'/ 'why doesn't she go to a specialist shop' as if those exist and there is one just down the road
