There's so much negativity right now, thought I'd start a nice thread Thanks

I have a 16 month old DS and we're currently on our first holiday, I'm amazed with how much of a funny, kind, bright, helpful, happy, amazing little boy he's turning into, it melts my heart!
I just stare at him and wonder how I ever got so lucky!

Does anyone want to share any stories of someone they love? Son, daughter, niece, nephew, dog, cat, goldfish?? Anyone at all, let's get a nice thread going Thanks

Aw, DD is around the same age. It's such a lovely stage isnt it? All the new words and games she plays. How funny she is. Of course she is a little menace at times and is exhausting but just so lovely. Sometimes when she is giving me a cuddle or sitting on my knee 'reading' a book I get a little tinge of sadness that she wont always be this tiny.

BooseysMom · 28/08/2019 19:58

What a good idea, to start a thread that cheers everyone up! I thought i would share the love by saying i felt such overwhelming love for my DS at this age. It was off the scale and i'd never felt anything so immense and powerful in all my life. He's now five and it has been and still is amazing to watch him grow up and develop his own little character. Yes he drives me mental sometimes but i feel truly blessed to have him Smile

BertsFriend · 28/08/2019 19:59

Aww, that's lovely op. Mine are all grown up now, I'd give anything to time travel back to that stage for a couple of days. You're their world at that age and it's lovely that you appreciate it, because it can be tiring. You'll love him just as much in 20 years but won't be allowed to be quite as demonstrative Grin

Oh how lovely ! I had a 4 month old and a 20 month old and I’m tired as hell but I could literally weep with live and joy when I look at them. My 20 month old is emitting new vocab constantly and it’s astounding ! My 4 month old is just so chubby and cute and smiley and innocent ... I feel so lucky and even on the very hard days I make myself count my blessings Flowers

RoseHippy1 · 28/08/2019 20:01

Sorry for typos - shattered !!

littlemama18 · 28/08/2019 20:01

@Treem @BooseysMom honestly it's such an amazing stage! He's constantly babbling away and is so curious about everything! His little cheeky character comes out more and more everyday, we are such blessed mamas BiscuitThanks

What a nice idea.

Ds is 14 months and started walking not holding our hands at the weekend, amazing that he would now rather do that than crawl in just a few days. He has also learnt to click his tongue and was so pleased that he could do it to copy me and DH this evening he was clapping himself and kissing his hands. He has also learn to say "narna" today, he is clearly an absolute genius.

He's such a beautiful, clever funny little person and I'm so lucky to be his mummy

Wilberforce2 · 28/08/2019 20:04

Mine are a bit older they are 5.5 and almost 11 (girl and boy) but I just wanted to say that we have had such a lovely summer, they go back to school next week but I'm still not at that stage where they are driving me mad! I'll miss them both after next Wednesday ❤️

littlemama18 · 28/08/2019 20:05

@RoseHippy1 two under two! You go mama! It can be so exhausting when they're being little monkeys! My DS has learnt the word no so anything I ask of him he shakes his head and goes 'nooo' and I have to try and not laugh!! He's been playing on the beach all week and I've never seen him so happy throwing sand at everyone!!

Today I was just sat down and my 11 year old DS just gave me a kiss. No cajoling by me. Love that boy. My dd is also lovely but harder work and gives out kisses all the time.

HalleLouja · 28/08/2019 20:05

Strike through fail. Lovely idea for a thread.

littlemama18 · 28/08/2019 20:07

@meow1989 my DS claps himself when he does something good too, it's so sweet Grin

Yes, I've got a boy around the same age. He brings so much love into our lives. I feel truly blessed. Sending positive thoughts to all of you and your families!

Windydaysuponus · 28/08/2019 20:09

After having some bad news over the weekend I felt like not getting up yesterday.
Ddog2 pushed my bedroom door open and snuck onto the bed. She cuddled into my neck, gave me a lick then left the room.
Ddog 3 followed soon after and did the same!
Unfortunately she is a moulting husky and I had to strip the bed!!
Still worth it to have a Huge Husky Hug!!
Ddogs really do know when you feel down!

littlestrawby · 28/08/2019 20:10

My 20 month old is a complete delight Grin she loves singing songs and is constantly singing to herself, she is so cheeky and funny and says 'funny mummy' and 'silly mummy' to join in with the fun. She loves running and will often suddenly announce 'RUNNING!' then will start dashing around! My husband is away with work at the moment and we FaceTimed him tonight and she started kissing the phone screen. Just so lovely 😍 she's a rubbish sleeper but so worth the exhaustion!

littlestrawby · 28/08/2019 20:11

Oh and when she tries to pick something up she says 'heavy...did it!!' The cutest thing! I could go on Grin

CarolineKate · 28/08/2019 20:12

I have a 22 month old. He is so gentle. Always gives toys to babies at playgroups. Makes me genuinely laugh not fake laugh. So well mannered: plee (please), daduu (thank you), mu mee (excuse me) without being reminded - obviously still working on pronunciation 🤣🤣. Just love him. Feels like an honour to raise him. He deffo has his moments but so do I and I've had more practice at life than him. Thanks for the thread ❤️

Windydaysuponus · 28/08/2019 20:13

The cheerer upperers!!

I love my baby so much
feelingsicknow · 28/08/2019 20:13

Slightly different angle (see my previous threads about doubting my role as a mum etc and how hard I have found it) but the last couple of KIT days in work have done me the WORLD 🌍 of good in terms of my mental health. Obviously I’m not fully immersed yet and the pain is yet to come (!) but I personally feel a lot more like myself having gotten out and used my brain. And then the time I’ve spent with DS (11 months) afterwards has been enjoyable and fun and lovely. I’d been going stir crazy to be frank.

I had an absolute blast with him tonight after work and feel like a different person. I love him so much. He is the best thing EVER. I'd lost that in my feelings of inadequacy and cabin fever lately.

littlemama18 · 28/08/2019 20:18

@littlestrawby @CarolineKate they sound amazing 😍 they can be so funny sometimes can't they! I love the' RUNNING' exclamation and the adorable pronunciations!! Lucky mamas!❤️

@Windydaysuponus they are gorgeous!! Yes dogs can definitely tell! She knew you'd get up to change the bed haha!!

@feelingsicknow you are doing amazing mama!! Must be so difficult but your little boy loves you and will not remember the struggle! Only the laughs and the love and the cuddles! Sending you love Thanks

This week my 8 month old learnt to wave.

Melts my heart every single time!

Whattodo20192 · 28/08/2019 20:21

I have a 6 year old who's back to school tomorrow after the summer holidays, he spent the last 2 months being the best big brother to my newborn.
Everyone thought he would be jealous as he had been an only child for 5 years but he has been amazing. I'm going to miss him when he goes off in the morning Sad
Also have this new bundle of joy that is making me so tired yet so happy with his chubby cheeks and little gummy smile. What I love about children is they love their parents unconditionally, even on my worst days when I get home and ds comes running to see me it makes everything worthwhile.

bobstersmum · 28/08/2019 20:27

So lovely! My youngest is 2 and is about to have her 27 month check with the hv, they sent me some things to fill in beforehand and one question is What do you enjoy about your child? I wrote, EVERYTHING! Sure she is a little monkey, but she is so so happy and funny and just absolutely adorable, I honestly don't want her to grow up!
