Is your life better after having a baby?

Just came across this thread and got a bit scared: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/feeling_depressed/1146040--deep-breath-I-regret-having-children?pg=2

I suppose I am in need of some sort of reassurance as it all sounds really dreadful! Why would people have a 2nd or a 3rd if having DC is so bad??

Better, fuller, more satisfying, harder, less monotonous, more tiring, much happier.

The first one was a shock to my system. I’d had 38 years of my time being my own. Also , as I was late doing everything, we’d just bought our first house and we’re renovating it. So one tap, no floors of cooker...
Moved to new area , no support system.
So all tricky.
But the subsequent ones are a breeze. You know what you’re doing, they fit into family life, and aren’t the focus of all your anxiety!

But it’s by far the most life enhancing, happiness producing thing I’ve ever done.

I have one 13 month old. TBH I only really started to enjoy him since he was about 10 months. Maybe because he started sleeping better then. Or maybe because I returned to work then. I think I would really struggle to be a SAHM.

Now DH is talking about having another. I don't know if I can face it right
now. Though I adore DS and couldn't imagine my life without him. I can honestly say I am so much happier. He cracks me up every day he is so funny.

My almost 2 year old is the best thing I've ever done. She makes my life better every day. 😊

I have teens and they are the best thing I have ever done.

Knackering at times but definitely worth it

I think you don't truly know what real love is until you become a mother. Bear in mind I had crippling postnatal depression and no bond when my son was born. He is my everything. I could be having the worst day and just one smile off him or one 'mummy' and my day is a better one.
