Newborn on pillow

Hi,

My daughter is 4 days old. And for the last 48 hours has not stopped crying. Husband and I are at the end of our tether. The only time she settles is if she is on one of us, then the second she's transferred to the Moses basket the screaming starts.

About 20 mins ago, I popped her on a pillow on the floor whilst I grabbed a drink - and she's sleeping. She has been silent for 20 whole minutes.

I'm starting to wonder if she finds the Moses basket uncomfortable. Which leads me to my question - do you think it's ok to put the pillow in the basket? So I know she can't fall off it? Or do you think that would be dangerous?

Also just seen you mention tongue tie my son had that too and we had him snipped. Breast feeding was hard and he wouldn’t latch so got some breast shields and they worked like a dream.

I just wanted to throw into the mix a growsnug. Basically a newborn sleepbag kind of swaddles them but not too tightly.

If she likes the smell of you and dp could try shoving it up ur top for a couple of hours to get your scent.

Think Argos sell them and they do fastrack delivery if you wanted to give it a go.

We had this issue. We ended up buying a cocoonababy and hands downs the best invention in the world. We then put it in between us in bed but we do have a super king size though I'm sure we probably shouldn't have. Then after a couple of weeks of that I put him on his cocoonababy in the Moses basket next to my bed and he loved it.

We has similar issues with our boy. What eventually solved him being able to lie down without crying was a visit to a cranial osteopath when he was 12 weeks old. He had his cord over his shoulder during birth and therefore a lot of pressure on his diaphragm. Caesareans can cause similar things. If I have another child, I'll go as soon as it's born. So many people are recommending it now.

Red castle cocoonbaby. Game changer. Elevated soft and high enough to wedge between for co sleeping. The only thing my reflux/colic baby would sleep in.
Where about a are you OP I am done with mine now happy to post it to you ?

@RLOU30 ah that's so kind. I recommend them to everyone but I do understand they aren't cheap so a lot of people don't want to risk not getting on with them. I gave mine to my friend and her sisters now using it Grin

My girl slept most of her first weeks in her bouncy baby seat. I was worried about safety but GP and HV said it was fine. She was secure but slightly raised up.
