My dd rolled off the bed this morning and I can't help but feel like such a s&&& mum!! She was asleep and I went to change her nappy as it was full and she rolled over and fell off :(( she was crying and screaming as clearly scared and the shock of it all then stopped she has a bit of milk then tried to sleep but she won't sleep as I think she's still upset. She's talking away but I can't help feel so bad and my OH will use it against me :( has anyone ever had there lo do anything like this :( I'm so paranoid so I'm taking her doctors then probably a and e as I've been googling for hours and have seen story's of baby's having brain damage from falls as small as 2ft :((

My 4 month old did this last week. Cried and I felt guilty for a few mins but honestly, these things happen!! You are doing a great job but accidents happen. Try not to be so hard on yourself.

Oh OP. Mine rolled off the bed at the same age and the clunk as her head hit our cold tiled floor has stayed with me!

We were sharing a double bed and I'd put cushions on the side of the bed but she used to flap around like a salmon and just plopped out.

She's absolutely fine now. These things can happen. Try to be kind to yourself.

Arghhhhh, it’s a horrible when they fall. I had something very similar. But they threw themselves off the bed and landed very hard on their head and flipped over! Lots of tears, and a big bump which disappeared 48hrs later. I felt awful. Like you said, you love them so so much. It aches to see them in pain. BUT, these things happen and they will keep happening as they explore, learn what is safe and not etc. Just don’t beat your self up. I felt awful and embarrassed as I’m always telling my husband to be very careful with him. So I felt ashamed it had happened on my watch. But thing is, I look after the baby 90% of the time (as I’m on mat leave) so of course things will happen whilst he is with me.

Are you on Facebook?
There are loads of groups on that which are super helpful for sharing stuff and which you’ll get loads of responses on. I’m thinking about your question about your baby’s food.
Have you heard of the Wonder Weeks?
They have groups for each month your baby was born. So, I imagine your baby was born in June 2018. They have a group for that month and there are thousands of mums. A lot are in the USA and so they often talk about food recipes or prodocyts we don’t have here but I found it really helpful for my son

My dd rolled of the bed on to a wood floor. I felt crap too. Took her to a and e. Also as a toddler she fell from the too of the stairs and after doing a summer sault she landed and just toddled into kitchen. It’s a wonder shes 19 now really. No damage done and studying hard at uni!

How is he lovley with her if he only bothers sometimes?
I dropped ny baby out her chair when she was nine days old and it was awful. I still have a visceral memory of her laying face down on the carpet. When I took her to a and e they asked me the same questions over and over again and it was terrifying. But it’s procedure.
