What would you like for Mother’s Day?

I know it’s not in the spirit of Mother’s Day and obviously I want to spend the day with my children but if you could ask for an actual gift what would you ask for? Or what gifts have you had that you loved?

I have two under two and would love something personalised, or maybe something indulgent, doesn’t have to be expensive.
My DH normally panics and will throw money away on gifts if left to his own devices so I would rather ask for something from the boys. We are away with family on the day so breakfast in bed etc are out!

I buy my own! Going for afternoon tea with my 10 year old daughter on the Saturday and and am getting a necklace and earrings set and a box of chocolates from my boys 😂

10 hours sleep. A bunch of yellow Roses and someone else cleaning the kitchen floor.

I'd like my DC to talk to each other, they used to be so close. 😔

My mum , miss her so much

Eggstatic · 18/03/2019 22:48

Full nights sleep where I'm not poked awake by little fingers and then I wake up naturally at say around 10 am. But I'll settle for a box of chocolates

happyhillock · 18/03/2019 22:55

A chinese dinner, vodka and tonic while watching a good film

Walnutwhipster · 18/03/2019 23:07

I'll be in hospital. I always receive flowers, (they're no allowed) chocolates, breakfast in bed and a family meal out, none of which I can have. I've no idea what they'll come up with.

I'd like a lay in followed by a pot of tea or coffee, time to read the sunday papers and some of my book.

I always get cards and lots of presents(we have 5DC and my DH is brilliant when it comes to anythink like mothers day)and we usually have something nice for lunch and dinner.

But for the second year running our DD's fucking dance teacher has booked the show for Mothers Day,my DD's upset over it and my DH is pissed off over it.None of us would mind but she did the same last year and had so many parents pull they're DC out of the show because of it that she swore she'd check the date properly and make sure it didn't happen again!

So I'll get my lay in ect but my poor DH will be rushing to get our DD to rehearsal so it won't be a lovely relaxing morning for everyone in our house which is really sad.

SnapesGreasyHair · 19/03/2019 05:16

I'm spending it alone. Boy's are at their Dad's. I'll see my Mum the day before as my sister has to work on the Sunday.

There is nothing l want. I have everything. If l could wave a magic wand it would be that Ds1 had friends but l don't see that ever happening (15yrs ASD)

It’s my first one but a nice sleep through the night with partner getting up early with him followed by bacon sandwich and cuddles ... or just one of those ( worse case fairly confident one part will make it well two as I always get cuddles at some point ❤️❤️)

Personalised stuff directly from the kids is my favourite - home made cards, my husband took them when they were babies to get handprints made on a plate which they glazed, with happy mothers day and the date on, I treasure those. I quite like them not bashing the everlasting fuck out of each other now they are older as well, that's a treat Grin

Pinkbells · 19/03/2019 09:19

We always take my mum out for a meal on MD too, at the same restaurant we've been going to on the day for 10 years!

Equimum · 19/03/2019 14:30

Hmm, well the lay-in will be the off the cards, as DH has to get up at 4am to get to the airport. I’ll then be looking after my children and doing a four hour round-trip to take my mum out for lunch.

MotherWol · 19/03/2019 16:37

A bunch of flowers, a bag of Montezuma's giant chocolate buttons, and a nice peaceful day. Perhaps a pub lunch. My tastes are pretty simple really.
