oh no!-just spent another 3 1/2 hours on mumsnet today.Feel guilty like i should be getting on with something else, but i'm so hooked. It's supportive, funny, entertaining, enlightening, and you lot are great 'company' to a lonely mum.
at it every day!-do enjoy it,but should i cut it down a bit.what d ya reckon?
Tell me about your mumsnet habits/usage,then i might not feel so excessive! PLEASE!!
if you feel that you are the only one on the computer(the only being on the planet even sometimes) and you see that other people are literally posting at the same time as you,you kinda feel less lonely and part of a 'group' too, don't you?!..it's like a live chatting experience with other mums for me!(not always had net).As good as going out with a friend!

fircone · 06/07/2007 07:59

DH working from home yesterday. I was prowling round waiting to pounce on the computer. My only chance came when he went to the loo!

Wilkie · 06/07/2007 08:04

Cruismum - that is what I do!!! Lie about being on the bank etc

I am totally addicted - after a sabbatical I am back and 100% addicted. It's embarrassing. I do get worried about the amount of time I am on here...

(although am now sharing my MN addiction with a Facebook addiction)

And I thought I'd got it bad for checking in a couple of times a day, spending half an hour in the evenings on MN and occasionally an hour or two when DH is out for the evening or I require support as a parent!

barefeete · 06/07/2007 12:28

Wilkie - i have a complete facebbok/MN addiction. I lie to my husband and quickly flick screens when he comes into the room and pretend i am sending an important email! Although facebook now depresses me as i feel so sad incomparison to everyone else i know on it. At least MN gives me a laugh and makes me feel good about me sad life!

clutteredup · 06/07/2007 12:43

I promised myself that I'd do some housework whilst DD2 in bed. But thoguht I'd first get a little update on MN...only a quick look I said.. just a couple of minutes.....she'll wake any minute now and I'm still here. AND I'll lie to DH when he gets home as to why I have failed to keep the house clean!!

Flumpybumpy · 06/07/2007 12:56

I try and try to keep away but I can't it's like the PC is calling me to switch it on a visit MN.

REPEAT AFTER ME 'I must resist, I must resist!!

Actually I am sitting at work and my boss thinks I am typing a very important letter, he he. Probably find out she is a MNer too and is posting as we speak!!

FB x

clutteredup · 06/07/2007 12:57

lucyellensmum · 06/07/2007 14:41

i dont mind doing this when im at work, it passes the time, but i get really cheesed off with myself when i find out ive wasted hour on it, i mean, i could be doing something better - couldnt i?

clutteredup · 06/07/2007 14:43

eating watching tv looking after dc - naaah! Give me more MN [desperate smiley]

pinkspottywellies · 06/07/2007 15:09

DD isn't sleeping too well at the moment and I keep meaning to go to bed early so I kick myself every night when it's 11 o'clock and I'm still on MN! I'm going away for the weekend tonight so I don't know how I'll manage!

cruisemum1 · 06/07/2007 16:02

what is facebook anyone

barefeete · 06/07/2007 17:41

facebook is life friends reunited but better and also gives you more information on people you used to know and what they are up to now! Addictive until a few ex-boyfriends contacted me which put me off really. Also everyone sounds so interesting and i can't work out how to make having my life as interesting! For some reason breast feeding and nappies don't crack it!

ktmoomoo · 06/07/2007 17:45

i get cross with myself when i on late when i due at work early next day

Durdle · 06/07/2007 18:41

I just burnt the dinner because I was on MN reading about everyone's addictions to MN. Think its about time I realised my own.

lucyellensmum · 06/07/2007 20:48

i was quite cheesed off today at work, i was too busy to do mumsnetting what do they want, blood???

Genidef · 07/07/2007 00:03

Feel not bad
Under 30s, no children - posting on facebook at the same time as I'm peeking at mumsnet on a Friday and should be working!

totally absolved me of guilt

handlemecarefully · 07/07/2007 00:26

used to be addicted - felt sort of grubby. Now I spend perhaps half an hour on mumsnet maybe 4 days per week. That's much better

RedTartanLass · 07/07/2007 01:05

yes use to be addicted as well but became a "light user" but feek myslef being sucked in again!!
