DD's first sound was Dadadadadadadada (it wasn't Dadda, as she didn't have one).
But her first word was No.

Anyone like to share?

Ds' first word/s was 'oh dear' GrinGrin

Lol, I wonder whether it's indicative of what they're hearing most. Doesn't say much about me does it! Blush

The context was I asked 'Are you tired?' NO 'Do you want to go to bed?' NO.
I used to converse with her and answer on her behalf lol, so maybe she thought it was time she bloody told me straight.

Our dogs name.

Car. She used to like watching the cars go past at the window and starting shouting "car" whenever one went by

Zulor · 01/12/2018 14:41

Apparently my own first words were 'Fucky ~brother's name~' [fuck you ~brother's name~]
As you can tell, I came from a very classy family. Lol

"Hiya"

TeddyIsaHe · 01/12/2018 14:46

Shoe. Shortly followed by “shit” which she’d picked up from me when I dropped a carton of eggs in the kitchen Blush Took weeks before she stopped saying it!

Yes, @orangeicecream - I think No being her first word is very indicative of her current character. She knows her own mind and is as stubborn as a mule.

DS1's was Look. It was one of the first things he picked up in German when we moved to Germany as well! Its clearly very important to him to have shared experiences.

bellinisurge · 01/12/2018 15:18

Da. Meaning "bus".

MimsyBorogroves · 01/12/2018 15:26
  1. "box". Only said it once, then moved onto mamma and hiya

  2. "cat"

BertramKibbler · 01/12/2018 15:28

His first clear word (as opposed to sound) was "Argos"

It was before the internet and there was always an Argos catalogue in most WC houses. He loved it more than any picture book.

FartnissEverbeans · 01/12/2018 16:32

The first real word was ‘hiya’ at about ten months. He didn’t say much else for a while but he said it a LOT Grin
