I'm reading a book called "Raising your Spirited Child" right now. Even though the author uses the term spirited instead of highly sensitive, it is a wonderful companion book to The Highly Sensitive Child.

Apparently it was broke!! Thank you VVVQV for sending me this - am going to check this. Dd is intense and spirited, but not sure if it's the manner described on the link...but thanks to jabberwocky (again) - will seek this out in Manchester Waterstones at the weekend.

Things that are akin to spirited for dd - stubborn, never takes the easy way, intense feelings, scarily long and clear memory, composed in a welter of noise/activity, a sort of 'look' on her face that is bewildering. I remember a friend of her mum's commenting on the fact that when she was a baby/toddler, she had a look as if she's been here before and she was just re-acquainting herself with things.....v. spooky.

That is so like ds1!!!
